Jalopnik is inaccessible thanks to the flash ads crashing on Chrome. I tried cleaning my hard drive with a magnet, but that didn’t help. Anyone else in the same boat?

Shamefully, I admit that I opened IE in order to read a review of a Jeep Compass in 2015. May God have mercy on my soul.

Pretty sure that Kinja is the one time it’s not Flash’s fault.

Have no fear, Tech Support is here!!!

https://getadblock.com/

Also: It blocks YouTube ads! Alternatively, you can get AdBlock Plus, but this one works better. :)

Can you add AdBlock to Chrome to prevent the ads from loading?

I typically use Ad Block sparingly, but it’s totally worth it on the Gawker sites.

AdBlock or uBlock Origin makes Gawker sites actually rather pleasant.

Hey REAL Kinja Support here. Do you know what ad it was that caused your browser to crash? Also, are you experience this on our other sites (Gawker, io9, Gizmodo, etc)?

nope, Just fails to load and crashes all white, affected tabs take forever to close. I was able to access Deadspin with no problem but had it crash on a ROYGIBV article as well (although the article loaded before the ad crashed). since finally being able to restart Chrome I didn’t have an issue. I assume it’s ad dependent.
