The XJ220:
I’ll never escape the grey over on Jalopnik...

Isn’t it technically really 80’s instead of 90’s?

Like you, I am as grey as your XJ220 on the front page (or former front page, since its been oppositelock.kinja). Multiple Best of Oppo’s, a car show article that wound up on the front page and a post on the Simeone Museum that Mr. DeMuro GT-R himself even commented on. I don’t know what it takes to ungrey on Jalopnik, but you know what?
Oppo has more fun than the front page. I’m happy to be part of the stream-of-consciousness-like automotive fever dream that is Oppositelock.

Nah, the concept debuted in ‘88 but the production was 92-94, it’s styling defined the 90’s.

Agreed, I just get annoyed when seemingly obvious answers don’t get mentioned. I once “won” one of these over there but never got ungreyed (although they never posted a follow up top 10 list)

There are very few 90/00s blob-mobiles that I find attractive. The XJ220 will always be one of them.
A couple others:

This about as 90’s as it gets. Cheesy body kit and graphics. Take a respectable car and make it worse in every conceivable way.

Yep. Ugh, rectangular sealed beams are awful too (my car has them, but they’re hidden).

The CLK GTR was so far ahead of its time. 90s styling was all soft aerodynamics, hiding lines under subtle curves where as the 2000’s were aero fins, angles and scoops.

The C1000 is so cool, and reminds me of the Ford GT90 from the same year. The C1000 is a better looker though.

Wasn’t alive to experience 1990 itself, I’ll have to take your word on it :)
