Well would you? For those of us who don’t own a car or have a license, think you could continue on that way?
I almost (was a few weeks away from signing papers) moved to Brooklyn into a place off Kings Highway last year. Sadly my car at the time was being crushed into soda cans (accident) and I honestly had no issue with the mindset of “I really don’t need a car.” Granted, I’m not the pure blooded car enthusiast that some people on this site are nor do I have a deep burning love for brown wagons with a manual, so maybe the idea of not having a car isn’t a big deal to me.

Sure, temporarily. But I love driving too much to throw the keys away forever.

If I lived in a big enough city with either everything within walking distance or a really good transit system I would be ok. But I live in Mount Holly, North Carolina. It’s eight miles to the nearest bus stop and 22 miles to work.

Maybe for a few years, but definitely not for the rest of my life. I can’t even drive on my own anyways, so nbd.

I don’t really need a car as I commute with a bicycle. But cars are my hobby so I wouldn’t give up having cars. In fact I don’t even want to drive daily. I want my cars to be places where I can enjoy driving and not to be imprisoned in them daily while commuting.
I could temporarily live without having car that I could use when ever I wanted but not permanently.

I would stop driving for two reasons:
1) Unable to afford a car (the situation I’m in now)
2) Not medically sound enough to drive.

I’ll never stop or give up driving or having cars. I’d sooner rather die than lose one of the constant remaining things that brings me pure happiness in my life. Fuck anyone and everyone who's gonna take that away.

Unless I can’t due to an medical ailment or lack of funds to afford a car, no way. Driving is like a therapy for me, I’d go nuts without it.

Temporarily, yes. I can commute on a bike (even when I'm out of shape, I fucking tear apart bike trails). I have even started not liking CVTs after daily driving manual...

I could see that. I’d save a huge amount of time, space, and money, and I’d usually rather ride a bike anyway. I often look in the garage and think about having my instruments set up, all my books on shelves, and a nice place to chill, drink beer, and work on bikes. I’d need to take a properly epic drive first, though.

If I lived in a city such as London, I would not want to own a car...and really, you don’t need one.

Only if I lived in Manhattan.......... Otherwise I’d have to keep a car or a motorcycle.
I couldn't give up driving altogether though, it's pretty much my only main hobby and it's been like that for years.

No No No nope Noooopppeeee. I could loose both my hands and my left foot, I’d still find a way to drive a car. I’d still find a way to drive a manual car even. I honestly don’t think I’d be able to heal without driving.

Great question! I’ve alternated between working near home in NJ, and commuting in to NYC by train. I sold my car the last time I did a NYC job. I’ve gotten more serious about enthusiast driving since then, and I doubt I would do that again unless money forced me to.

ah, see I couldn’t do it. I’ve found the double wishbone and quick steering way more fun than I anticipated when I bought the car. That being said, I have a weird thing for the 3.2 CSL

If I had the means to do something like the Classic Car Club in a place like NYC, I’d be all for it.
But if not I’d get a beater and street park that bitch anywhere. So like Dusty said - “ Owning a car? Maybe. Driving a car? No …”

Heck no. I don’t have a license, but I’m counting the days till I get mine (WAAAY too many). The closest I can get is go karting, and hate going more than a month or two without it.
