I guess I should be thankful that this is the worst of it, over a 16 year period spent in the states of MD,VA, and WV. For 260k miles it could be a whole lot worse.

It's done well. We had a car ten times worse than that at 90k. Had to be junked.

Welp, looks like you need to throw this one away and get a new one.

But really, a decent body shop could stop the cancer before it starts in earnest for probably under $200.

My stepdad can do body work. Shouldn’t be too difficult to take care of. There’s various other spots of rust throughout the body, but it’s all surface.

Getting it before it spreads is key. It get exponentially more expensive as you let it go.

Believe me I know. It’ll be taken care of pretty quickly.

Yeah they do look a little dry in the pic. They’re good though.

Just grind it all out, body fill it, and paint to match. Hardest part is just waiting for paint to dry between coats. Certainly fixable!

Exactly what I planned for. And it being white, painting shouldn’t be too bad.

Ehh idk about white being helpful since there are apparently many shades of white (didn’t know this until I tried looking at house paints lol). It is much easier to make it look good with darker colors. But yeah it just takes patience and good prep work. Body filling that arch might be slightly difficult but Bondo makes a metallic patch that could work pretty well if you do it right.

It’s a shade called Aspen White Pearl. Pretty common on the equivalent Maximas. Though I have thought about repainting the car entirely. Maybe this will give me good reason to do so. And I’ll check out that metallic patch.
