This time last week, I was pretty upset that a buyer had backed out of purchasing my Jaguar.

This time this week, I’m pretty happy that another buyer has agreed to purchase the car, and a fair bit closer to my original asking price.

So I guess that it worked out to my advantage that the last guy didn’t know dick bout butt. The new buyer is experienced in Jaguars, specifically 80s V12s, and is somebody to whom I’d be happy to see the car go. He shares my philosophy on lumping (that it ruins the car), and has been looking for one like mine.

The upshot here is that the Jag will do a lot of good for me being sold: it’ll pay for a lot of baby-related stuff, it’ll get my P71 painted, it’ll give my wife some money, and it should leave enough left over to get myself a cheap project-toy car...something cheap that I can do little token things on while spending most of the money that would usually head there on my yet-unborn son.

So my sad story from last week, at least for now, looks like it’ll have a happy ending. Good times.

Also, my dog Chewie went to the groomer today:

In his defense, he does have some similarities to a Jaguar. He tends to leave puddles on the floor wherever you leave him, if you really needed him for something he's probably going to leave you stranded, but somehow his lack of redeeming qualities makes you like him.

Hmm, my assumption was actually correct. I hate that people do that kind of thing too but I can somewhat understand why. But then again the ones that I’ve seen are part of that “sbc everything” culture that I despise with a fiery burning passion.

Yeah, I mean I understand it...I just hate to see it done to really nice ones. And I especially hate to see it done to an E-Type...I saw a Series 1 fixed head coupe that somebody put a 302 and a 3 speed auto in. I mean you may as well crush the thing, in no way is that a better engine for that car (I’m a big small block Ford fan) than the original inline 6. Totally kills the character.

I prefer fords too but I don't want to see them everywhere.
