Partially a ‘parts bin’ vehicle, it uses the exact same liftgate as the Dodge Caravan of the same time period.
To this day, I’m still surprised they never used the taillights from the Caravan, considering the same taillights on the Caravan were used on the Durango.

Rear lamps from a Town & Country, possibly the liftgate, built on the same line as a Durango? Doors from a Dakota? This is a festival of leftovers.

WTF is that, a Durango Sport?

The “Big Rig” Mopars set Ford and Chevy on alert in 1994.
That Ramcharger should have been released above the border! The Bronco and (K) Blazer might still be around if Ma Mopar had the guts.

That is odd that the taillights aren’t the same. I always thought it was funny the the Durango and Caravan had the same taillights.

Is that a 1500 Ram or a Durango? The front end looks more like a Ram to me.

The last car I had a hard on for that was only made in Mexico. Chrysler Phantom R/T. Basically a LeBaron with Spirit R/T motor and transmission.

I think a less lazy version could have sold well. The short door look so wrong. If they had bothered to make a longer door, or a suicide door for the back, at least on the driver’s side, I think It could have sold well. I mean Ramchargers are awesome.

If they built a Ramcharger for the U.S. that looked like the Mexi Truck I bet it would have sold like hotcakes. If it offered a third row seat? even better.
We’re talking early 1990s though so..

I remember reading about these when they were new. If I recall correctly, the reason we didn’t get them was they wouldn’t pass US crash standards.

Yep, when the Ram came out in ‘94, they almost got my dad to defect. But they hadn’t started production of extended cabs yet as of February of ‘95, so he bought another Chevy. He’s now on his 7th Chevy truck, and I am on my fourth (GMC is close enough :) ).

‘99 to ‘01 Dodge RamCharger, and indeed only sold in Mexico. Allegedly, eight have been imported to the US – I’ve only seen four, all with CA plates:
How legal those supposed 8 (if not 4) are, I’m not sure, but there you are...
