I wanted to wait until I had a chance to wash it. It’s a 2013 Kia Optima LX with the NA 2.4 and 6-speed automatic. So far, I’m happy with it.
As if the universe wanted to demonstrate how I’d be happier in this car, my commute the morning after I bought it was maddening. It took over double the normal time and there was a horrible amount of stop-and-go. In this car, it was not bad at all. Not to mention that this the first automatic I’ve driven in years that hasn’t made me want to kill myself. It shifts smoothly and at the proper times.
I’ll definitely miss my little Fiat (especially at the pump), but I feel like I made the right choice. So long, little one!

I dig it. The Optima is probably my favorite Kia. It’s not overly bland, and it’s not overly expensive. Plus, killer warranty.

I think it’s my favorite midsize design. I like it even better than the Fusion, which is also great looking.

That drive is really fun, too. I need to go there again.
I could drive in the mountains forever. It gets me into trouble sometimes. “Woodland Park 30 miles? Oh crap!”

Driving in the mountains is very relaxing. I never tire of their beauty either.

No, probably not.

You bought a taillight with a car attached to it.

Used to kayak by the old South Platte Hotel on the Deckers and Foxton runs. Keep meaning to make that beautiful drive through Deckers in the M3, minus the gravel road part of course.
My wife worked for Kia for a few years before switching over to BMW this year, she loved the Optima and the warranty is one of the best in the country. Enjoy!

I did the gravel road in the Fiat. It was fun/terrifying.

You know what, after driving a new GT 3 series and seeing how almost all of the newer sedans have a reduced rear roof line, I think the body design of the GT to be most practical. It give you the rear height that most new sedans dont provide and gives you some vertical space for the storage area.

I wish they’d been more adventurous and made the Optima a liftback. I can tell you a rear wiper would have been a good addition.

Nice choice and kudos for not going with the fifty shades of grey that most new cars come in. As a coincidence a friend of mine just traded his 500 in last week for a slightly larger vehicle, too. He loved the styling and how it drove in the city but long road trips were just too tiresome.
