Only if it’s centered on that car alone. The only “good” Saturn.

GM could have saved so much money by just bringing Vauxhalls over and making them Chevys in the first place. But nooo. We need to create a whole new company or two (Geo) and fail at both rather than just do it right the first time.

In my quest for a three door hatch I noticed this.

Were you aware that GM had full size vans with AWD with a RWD Bias. With many V-8’s and they had minivans with AWD with a RWD bias and a v-6?

I have a 1999 Buick Century with a 3.1 that I don’t think they make anymore.

Well when Saturn was first created it was to compete with the economy cars coming out of Japan in the 90s. They had their own platform, engines, and even assembly plant. They were as far from separate from GM as they could get. As time went on they started adopting more and more from GM Europe and ended up being what they were in the end, Americas way into Opels.

Just a quick question and not saying it’s financially a great move but as the Astra was sold for one year in the U.S. does that not set a precedent to be able to import a Vauxhall, Opel Astra H or Holden AH? Or at least one that was produced within the build year of the U.S. Saturn Astra?

To my understanding the only thing I might be able to do is import a 2008 through 2010 Astra from Canada.

That’s my whole issue with Saturn. Roger felt it necessary to start an entirely new company with it’s own bureaucracy, new platforms, new engines etc.. Instead of just doing it right in the first place with the divisions they had.

All the effort that went into creating Saturn in the 80s would have been better spent fixing GM as a whole.
