I tend to be very objective when it comes to car. Or at least I try to me. Everything has it’s place. I don’t like squishy suspensions, or automatic transmissions, but I don’t hate a Buick Park Ave for having them, because that’s the whole point of the car. In the same vein I don’t love yellow cars, but you got a Geo Tracker, or Jeep Wrangler, or Focus ST, then why the hell not go with yellow. I mean how doesn’t like Tangerine Scream.

(side not I once fell head over heels in love with a bone stock, yellow, automatic TJ Unlimited.)

But there is one thing I can’t stand on any car. Pearl white. It doesn’t matter what car I hate pearl white cars. It’s just and ugly color to me. Well no it’s really more the additive that the color projects in my mind. I imagine most people with pearl white cars thought to themselves “oh this will match my teacup shitsapoo, and Louis Vuitton dog carrier/handbag. It could also be that 85% of Escalades I’ve seen have been pearl white. But still it doesn’t matter the car, I can’t like pearl white.

Is there any color you just can’t stand no matter the car?

Here’s this subtle pink-pearl finish I have seen numerous times on some whatever modern Cadillac. I have negative opinions about the color.

I cant stand white or light silver (see Honda’s alabaster silver metallic). It just screams “NO ONE HAS PAINTED ME YET!!” To me

I think pearl white can work on a cheap economy shoebox, it’s simple and barebones, like the car it’s on. Gets the job done.

But that horrible nineties teal, ugh...

Nissan is still using the damn colour!

To be fair the examples you gave are extremely poor examples of the color, but I actually like what ford did with it. My truck changes color in different lighting

I used to drive for work a ‘08 DTS in pearl white and tan leather. It had all the bells and whistles, and spoke to the inner Benjamin Rolland in me. I would DD one.

Colors that remind me of bodily functions, usually yellow or brown, because it’s either too bright, or too dark. But as a general rule of thumb, tan/champagne are the worst offenders. You can put that color on a Lamborghini, and everyone will instantly think you live at the Elk’s Lodge and want to live the rest of your life out in Boca Raton. Those two colors turn any car into an old man's car, especially if that brand is either Lexus or Cadillac.

My car is a very bright metallic silver, and while that’s possibly boring, I think it looks spectacular in bright sunlight when the car is clean.

2. I think you’re thinking more Gloss white, just plain jane white. I’m thinking more of a pearlescent off white. Usually with some flake in it, and a purple/pink tint. This pic shows it pretty well

I actually like Samba Green :) I had a ‘98 Eucalyptus Green Pearl Prelude once, love that color.

Generally I agree with you, but there’s a couple of exceptions. A blue WRX without gold wheels just looks lame. And while you could never make a Stratos “lame”, they look emasculated without the proper wheels.

That prelude color is gorgeous. I don’t think had ever seen it before. It’s a very subtle color. kinda like Chryler’s(mostly Jeep’s) Black Forest green. Untill the sun hits it just right you almost can’t tell it’s green at all, but mam does it pop in the sun.

Incidentally light silver was Sergio Pininfarinas favourite colour, as it highlights every detail of the body shape when in bright sunlight.

The worst car color is maroon/burgundy/wine red.. Whatever manufacturers call this lame color. If you want red, get RED, not “sophisticated red.” GM has a truly grotesque version of this color for Silverados that was like burgundy-pink-zing-metallic that my dad had on his truck. I disliked it.

Come to think of it....

Mom had an Aztek that color too. She traded in her gold one for it. She was sad they stopped making them and she could not get another that had a factory warranty. As I recall, the interior plastics featured a grey/black speckled pattern one might find on a leopard frog as well.

I saw a Hyundai Santa Fe (I think) that was the same color beige as the Top Gear boys used for their old people car. It was absolutely atrocious.

Some silvers compliment a cars body lines but I find most automakers use a silver paint that is rather dull.

I mostly agree with you. I don't hate it but I find it's the color of cars for people who don't want to wash their car. When it's dirty it just looks like a darker silver. I always like my Corolla a little more after I washed it because it had a decent shine to it but nearly every mid 2000s Corolla was silver so it was easy to walk up to the wrong one in a parking lot but also easy to blend in if you wanted.

Mary Kay Pink. Mary Kay has some deal with GM forever so people who do especially well get a GM car in that pink. The first car is a Cruz I think. There are 3 or 4 levels till you get to the Cadillac.

If you don't want the car you can instead get a monthly check roughly equal to the lease amount of the car.

That Tercel (second picture from the top) is perfectly acceptable to me. It works nicely with the car’s lines and the black bumpers and trim pieces.

When I was selling new Chrylsers Dark Cherry Red was a surprisingly popular color, on everything from 200s, to Rams, to Jeep GCs. However where I live most of the people buying new cars are between 50 and dead.

I could dig on some version of black cherry midnight metallic, sort of like the Chrysler green-almost black above. The usual “Merlot reds" though are just the beige of red. But... Put it on the right car and my mind could be changed...

I love yellow cars.

If I got an S4 or RS4 it would have to be Imola Yellow. Focus ST definitely should be Tangerine Scream. I love the yellow on the Renegade too. Porsches look sexy as fuck in Speed Yellow, and Ferrari’s official color is Giallo Modena. Also, Lexus LF-A. Hnnnng...

Really, there are too many to list. But I always smile when I see a yellow car. Here are my personal favorites from about a year ago.
