So last week I posted about purchasing a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in Georgia. However , that sold yesterday. In the meantime, I found a local 2007 335i with 63K for a few grand more.
It’s a 2007 graphite/terra 335i with 63,000 miles, purchased in 2008 from Carmax in New Mexico with 8k (2-Owner). All service is documented and the owner is a middle-aged pilot (always out of town, hence low miles), who ultimately needs an SUV. He has it listed at $17,500...it’s steep, but it has a Dinan Stage 2 Tune (like 340hp to the wheels - it was a dealer-performed $2,000+ tune). I’m 90% sure I can leave with it for $16,000.
Driving impressions:0-20 -whatever. 20+ holy crap this thing is quick. Handling is 5x better than my modded Volvo, steering input is amazing, and it’s generally a blast to drive.
The negatives: This thing needs some cosmetic TLC. It was waxed, but a lot of the wax remnants remains, and it needs a new rocker panel and front bumper. I’m getting a PPI on next wednesday, the seller is more than accommodating, and the car is clean, just obviously not owned by an enthusiast (despite the manual gearbox and tune). Warning light also came on during the test drive...more to follow.

N54.... dice roll dude. Real dice roll. G37 with 400HP kit would yield same performance with less headache (though less torque too). G35 with TT kit would probably be more reliable TBH.

They are fun. I went with a newer used 335i car, with a payment.
If you pick one up, let us know how the reliability is on it.

I’d suggest taking the 335 to a respectable BMW shop for a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) at your cost. I’m always wary of buying a vehicle that has been tuned. The mileage and price make it a good deal - spend a little up front for that piece of mind. The PPI may bring up non deal breaker issues that you can use to negotiate the price a little more as well.
Edit: Totally read that you were already getting a PPI Wednesday. I’m gonna go slam my head under the hood of my M3 now.

My BMW inde shop has got a Dinan S2 335 that is one of their loaners! It is piss pants fast, so much fun to drive. I love it when my fiancee takes her cooper in and comes back with it for a few days. The car is an 07’ and its got around 115k on the clock, it drives like it’s brand new.

G-Owners are Scion Tc Owner’s with a little more money. I’m sorry, I can barely get over the douchebag status of a BMW. There’s not a snowball’s chance in hell I’ll buy a G35/G37.

Dude my last car was a 350Z. Don’t even tell me about douchebag imagery lol.
I wasn’t thinking about those My350Z.com assholes when I had it on the limit of adhesion on my daily drive home. That shit’s irrelevant.
Plus it’s not like the 3’s image is any better.
