My parking lot at work got me thinking the other day. What’s the most abundant car in the lot that you frequent? And, what part of the country is this lot? For the lot I most frequent in Philadelphia, it’s the Honda Civic. In a 200 space lot (roughly) there’s at least 12 different Civics that I’ve counted (including mine) All of them are 8th or 9th gen Civics. Second place is the Accord, followed by the F150.

Yes, I am bored and realize stupid things. Just curious if anyone else has taken notice of their parking lots.

Current shape Fiesta’s are the most common in my car park at work, there’s loads of them (it is the best selling car in the UK at the mo), also there are lots and lots of old shape BMW 1 series, and what seems a distortional number of new Nissan Cashcows (my Abarth 500 is the only one of it’s kind that uses it but there is also a Abarth Punto Supersport).

Almost certainly Ford F-150. Not too many of them, but we’ve got pretty good variety here. Least common: brown (or orange? or rust?) 1st-gen Chevy Nova wagon that hasn’t moved in the year in a half I’ve lived here.

Oh, that kind of popular!

I thought by the headline popular as in “gets the most attention” and I was going to say Mine! My FR-s gets all the attentions!

But based on your actual question. Volkswagen Jettas.

In the 100(?) car lot I’m in at college, I’ve seen a lot of first-gen Foci (mostly sedans) and 2013-2015 Honda Civics. I have found 2 other pre-facelift Honda Pilots like mine though.

I would say the most popular vehicle is the Dodge Caravan. But that’s mainly because we have a carpooling program here that provides them for employees’ use. No one is actually spending their own money on Caravans, thankfully.

I’m in western Kentucky. Owensboro, to be specific. A town of about 80,000 and where the average median income is $32,000-ish. For a household. Yeah.

Most abundant car, bar none, around here is the W-Body Chevrolet Impala. Some are newer off-lease specials, others are ragged out ex-rental cars bought from shady buy here-pay here lots and in various states of shocking disrepair for their relative newness.

Hardly any loaded LTZ models or SSs. All just plain Jane base as can be. At my work (the largest employer in town besides the hospital), there’s around 20 or 30 of these.

In my high school lot, probably late 90s, early 00s Tauri. Followed by GM W-Bodies, then 90s RAM 1500s. There's a real lack of anything foreign though, which is surprising.

We’ve got an odd mix because we do automotive advertising.

The majority drive the brands they work on the most. So we have a high population of Ford/Lincoln/Mercury, Audi, and Subarus.

Mostly FoMoCo and Audi though.

And I’m in Metro Detroit

I would get FoMoCo being in Detroit. Audi is rather odd to me. I just imagine that people in the Midwest don’t even know foreign cars exist.

What’s weird is there are some big ass houses here. Several neighborhoods where even the smallest house is 4-5 bedrooms. I don’t know where those people are getting their money.

Anyway, some of it balances out since the cost of living here is so low. Our house was only $149k and in a lot of other places, it’d be a $200k or more house.

Audi’s are quite common around the more affluent areas.

There’s an S7, an A7, Q8, a pile of A4’s a couple A5’s in the lot every day.

I drive Mercury. The 68 Montego for fun and the 07 Milan for DD services.

At my old ad agency that only had FoMoCo I was driving a chevy for 2.5 years, finally switched to a FoMoCo product and BOOM there’s that promotion I’ve been waiting for. A-Holes.

It’s actually pretty funny that we have all 3 major automobile manufacturing countries under one roof. USA, Germany, Japan. (sorry Korea)

Well, specifically looking at the parking lot for my office, we don’t have a huge number of employees, so not too many duplicates of cars strangely enough. That said, there are four current generation Nissan Sentras (and they all like to park together). Other than that, I don’t really anything duplicate. I’ve got my Crown Vic, there’s a Neon SRT4, an Expedition, a new Jeep Grand Cherokee, a new Ford Explorer, Mercedes C250, Ford C-Max, etc. Strangely enough, there are no Camrys and no Civics.

I did this a year or so ago...at my office the most popular are 3 series (e39 and newer, all conditions from ragged out 90s models to brand new, mostly base engine choices but a couple Ms and 335s around). Second was Jettas.

At my father's office it’s Avalons, but Cadenzas and Azeras are making in roads.
