Meet the new brain child of the engineers over at Peugeot Sport, the 308 Racing Cup. It comes with a 1.6l turbocharged engine developping, at least, 308hp. The turbo was sourced rom the recent 208 T16. It also weighs only 1000 kg (or 2200 lbs). And obviously it is FWD. Also the rear wing is actually up to par with WTCC rules. Will Peugeot go chase Citroën on its new turf? Picture and data from !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . And video with engine sounds after the jump!

Montlhery Autodrome. Ken Block filmed one of his Gymkhana there.

if anything Peugeot would replace Citroen in WTCC, as they are part of the same company it would be silly to compete against each other just like in WRC Peugeot pulled out and let Citroen go it alone

It’s a bit weird that Peugeot would replace Citroën after just two years? At least if they were to leave, we wouldn’t see that until 2017 or so, making an overlap. If Citroën leaving WTCC means more commitment to the WRC, I will be quite happy.

208 more suited to rally/rallycross though, at least size-wise..
