This part always reminded me of a turtle shell. It was rounded off for no reason.

I like how nobody seems to know the true purpose of step sides.
It’s for farm use. When you have a load of dirt or hay and you need to load it and empty it without hitting the wheel humps and you have workers unloading from the side steps so as not to get in the way of unloading.

Which is maybe why the Tundra stepside didn’t make much sense. I suspect “die of consumption” was higher up on the todo list for most farmers than “buy a Toyota truck”

OMFG I hate this iteration of the Tundra. (Sorry for being redundant) But every iteration before and after looks perfectly fine. Changing tech, changing wheels, one morning some guy walked in and was like “Well have we tried making it uglier yet?” AND THIS WAS BORN

I love the proportions of that generation Tundra, but that bed is ugly as hell. I know that shouldn’t matter as long as it works, but the swooping taillights just don't belong.

In fairness, Ford did this first:

Show some decency Hammerhead! If you are going to post something this hideous use a cover image.

I hear they are also handy for launching boats. I don’t like them, but whatever.. I don’t have a farm or a boat.
Hoefully, we can all agree on the fact that that taillight treatment was horrible.

I’ve always liked step sides, but not at the expense of bed width. Why couldn’t they just make the fenders wider to accommodate the steps?
The Tubdra looks dumb because of the way they pulled in the upper bed over the fender. It should be equal width.

That rear end is almost as bad as the front of that Infiniti whale suv.
