Or do I need to get a new door?

Go to junkyard (or ebay) and buy a used one that matches. That will be a LOT cheaper than trying to rebuild that.

it wouldn’t hurt to try. looks like there’s still some metal there. can sand it down, spray with rust converter sand then paint. or just replace. might cost the same to do either option.

Get a new door. It’s rusted right through.

Nope. It’s through all the way. I mean, I guess you could fix it, but you need to add metal to do so.

Probably, but it may be easier to just get one from a junkyard. The rust looks like it’s completely through the door now.

It always can be fixed but like many others have said this would be best gotten from a junkyard.

Technically repairable but replacing will be easier and possibly cheaper.

Just get a new one. Should be 2 bolts.

You could:
sand the whole thing down (better to use a chemical paint stripper or sandblast...maybe $10?)
filler for any holes ($10?)
prime it ($10+ a can)
repaint it ($10+ a can)
clear coat it ($10+ a can)
buff it (compound/polish $20?)
...so we’re up to $70+ in materials plus a tonne of your time.
A new door, if you can find one at the wrecker in mint condition, is going to run maybe $5.
The choice is clear. Some things aren’t worth repairing. The exception in this case would be if the wrecker didn’t have any in good shape. (keep checking weekly - they’ll eventually come up)

Based on your climate, I would say you are a candidate for an aluminum bodied truck.

Looks like you need to buy a new car. Sorry.
