And you know what? It was pretty great.
I’m not a fan of Dodge products. Call it family history, bad memories of the garbage they turned out in the ‘80s, and annoyance at the nostalgia that drove up the price of ‘Cudas in the early 2000’s, but I’ve just never been a MOPAR person.
On a recent trip I rented a 2015 Charger. It was an SXT so you know, not amazing. It was fine on the highway, huge in the city, and with its gigantic A-pillars, very very hard to see out of. However, the U-Connect system was great.
The controls responded well to the touch, it was intuitive, and didn’t require a bunch of searching around to make it work.
I’d still never buy the damn car. But if I could get this system in an old Mk1 LandRover, that’d be sweet.

I’ve never been a Mopar person either and after my family’s 96 Grand Caravan, I swore up and down that I would never by a Chrysler product. Then I went out and bought a 2015 Dart GT and love it. The U-Connect system is probably one of the best on the market and its extremely simple to use and the voice recognition is really good at picking up most commands. Shortly after I bought my car, my mom bought a CR-V and the Honda-Link is utter shit compared to U-Connect.

My only complaint is when a text message comes in, it starts talking to me, I hit Cancel. Then the second menu starts talking, would you like to reply?
No you stupid computer I just hit Cancel. Stop talking.

Honda/Acura-Link is the most infuriating shit ever. Hondas programmers need to work on their language skills. And their everything skills
