This past weekend my Dad and I got together with some more Datsun owners for burgers, we then all met up at our place to gab about Datsuns. Mine is of course the red Roadster, and my Dad’s is the absolutely perfect white Roadster.

M’ikuni
1968.5 1600 Roadster, drove all the way from Vancouver. Nice plates.
And of course we can’t forget the Zs, this one is a beautiful 1971 240.
Followed by a ‘73
With hood louvers!
It was a fun night, and everybody enjoyed each others cars, just the way it should be! Now I really can’t to drive mine. Which is your favourite?

It was pretty nice, owned by his father, I like the trim on the side, I’d never seen that on a 240 before.

I love Z-cars! I think the ‘73 has my vote.
The Roadsters are really neat little cars. My co-worker’s retired father has a beautiful silver 1970 2000 Roadster and I just can’t get over how tiny it is.
I love seeing old Datsuns get nicely restored or resto-modded, but at the same time it means fewer clapped-out Datsun project cars for me to choose from whenever I eventually get myself a shop. ;)

Don’t worry, Roadsters will always be available as projects, they seem to be everywhere. The ‘73 was really nice, it was fully restored and just about perfect, sounded great too, and the custom louvers!

Woulda given love if there were some 510s with us, but it was just Roadsters and Zs that night.

I have an orange 71 240, my friends dad has a 69 roadster and is the original owner. He goes to all the west coast meets. I really want to do some rally cartel class rallies.

Whaaaaat, I hate my side trim. My long term plan is to be rid of it but they rivet through the damn metal. So I have to wait, the cars look so much cleaner and beautiful without it. Damn dealer options.

I’ve never seen that upturned bit by the rear wheel. Looks like they replaced it or added it on. I think it was a dealer option, like the slotted mag wheels, nothing to do with Nissan. I have heard it was all done by dealers and the wheels are not all from the same source. Mine came with mags and they are different than others I’ve seen at shows. My Z is actually a transitional series II, it has some series I stuff and the good upgrades for II. Never selling it.

Your car is definitely a beaut, I’d never sell it either. Datsuns are too cool.
