Just different things you look for when car shopping.
For example, digital odometer vs. mechanical. I think digital looks better, myself, though I won’t shy away from an analog odo.
Power functions or manual? Cloth seats or leather?
I’m a much bigger fan of leather. Both my vehicles right now have leather seats, and they’re always more comfortable than cloth. I’ve had a lot of vehicles with both (5 with cloth, 5 with leather), but I do honestly feel the luxury of leather is better. I also prefer power functions over manual functions as well. Yes, more to break, I know. But when I drive, I like to be coddled. I prefer being comfortable if I’m going to be breaking speed limits and passing Prii. I’ve driven no option penalty boxes, and they’re generally miserable. (I’m looking at you, 2011 Chevy Aveo, with your manual windows, locks, and automatic transmission, and anemic four-pot engine). It’s just nice to be comfortable, having those features. It’s way more convenient. Now, if I had an actual sports car or track car, I would eschew all of these things for better performance, but for daily driving, traveling in comfort is a must.
What about you?

The correct answer for seats is cloth insets with leather bolsters.

After my last purchase, manual only...which is painfully restrictive now.
Cloth seats. Leather is too hot or too cold and the cloth options are getting better.
Manual seat, power windows. I drive with the windows down constantly and will not be responsible for rolling them up and down and up and down.
Whatever odometer...I’ve had digital ones flicker and fade as well as rolling ones stick.
Good speakers. I like my music.
Spare tire. Fuck inflation kits.

Good seats. I genuinely got into a car I had in mind before I bought the Twingo and got straight back out. The seats sucked so I wouldn’t even consider it.

Eh, I’m easy. If it starts and runs most of the time, I’m willing to consider it. It’s rather like dogs and squirrels, ie “hey, there’s a nice sensible 2003 Volvo S60 2.4 with th... OOH HEY ALFA ROMEO!!! IT’S NOT EVEN TOO RUSTY I’LL BET I COULD GET IT RUNNING PRETTY EASY.”

Sunroof is a must.
Good amount of passing power (anything with a 0-60 under 9 is good in my book).
Electric seats with memory if it’s a model that had it, or reaaaalllyy nice manual seats a la BMW.
Cloth seats but I don’t mind good condition leather. NO WHITE OR GREY LEATHER.
Full power controls, don’t want no crank windows.
Good stereo system, this one is an absolute must since I’m an audiophile.
No steelies with plastic covers. I hate those so much.
I’m not too particular about color, just no beige and a preference towards black and blue.

Power functions but I never understood power seats.
Auto/Manual tranny I do not discriminate
Leather Seats
Mechanical Speedo
And random fact but NA or Supercharged engine would always be my preference but I could live with turbos.

I have to agree with you on those. My car has all the good there. Sunroof, 0-60 of just a tick above 7 seconds, 2 person memory, tan leather, full power everything, Bose stereo, and white in color. So it checks all your boxes. Good choices.

The only things the M3 doesn't have are driver memory (which was never offered) and there's a small hole in the drivers leather, which is fixable and the rest of the seats look basically new so I'd say it covers all my criteria.

No silver cars. Doesn’t matter what silver car it is, maybe a 300 SL, but for the most part I would rather look at a beige Camry, because at least there is some color there.

I prefer manual transmission but would be comfortable with an auto, must be a nice car, must do 0-60 in under 10 seconds. The rest are just luxuries.

I hear that. The seats in my Cavalier were miserable, and the driver’s seat was actually skewed to the point that the metal frame was poking through the back. It got even worse when the recline lever broke off.

A bad seat can ruin even a good car. If you can’t get comfortable you can’t enjoy the drive.

4 doors > 2 doors
must have a V6 or V8 with at least 230hp and equal or greater torques
FWD > RWD but AWD=/= FWD
wagons and vans > SUV or CUV
power all the things if it’s possible
if i can have heated seats that’s nice cooled seats I can take or leave
I will not buy a car with a base sound system unless it’s a luxury car, then the base is usually good.
I don’t care if I have an auto transmission I want a RPM gauge.
I prefer my gauge cluster has both temp and oil pressure.
I like my gas filler to be on the drivers side
Trucks are tools for working not fashion accessories
Leather > cloth unless vehicle is meant for work or cargo duty. Also cloth is ok if the vehicle is a sports mind vehicle and it’s for weight reduction or other sportiness, but I’d still rather leather.
18 inch wheels are big enough
wheels with side wall will always be better than thin tires
I must be able to fit behind my own seat after adjustments are made to make sure I am comfortable behind the wheel.
Lincoln is a pyramid scheme not a luxury automobile manufacturer, the is only one real American luxury maker and it’s not owned by fiat.
Auto is just fine for anything I would DD but not for anything I would ever consider a sports
Targa top, T-tops and the like are ok but never a full convertible. I hate convertibles
It’s not a truck if it’s based on car’s frame but it’s ok to call them a SUV even if they are actually CUV.
car’s from the 80’s are beautiful, boxy is beautiful.
the ability to go from 40 to 75 quickly is more important then a cars ability to go from 0 to 60
350 is more than enough power to live with day to day, but 300 is perfect for a DD. anything over 400 is a waste of my time, money and lack of a revoked license.
white, silver and black are the worst colors for a car. If you own a white, black or silver car, especially if it’s an economy car I assume you are an awfully dull human that probably masturbates to quarterly performance reports from corporate and think the medium hot sauce from taco bell is too crazy and ethnic for you. there is one exception to this rule
Black is ok on luxury cars but not all luxury cars should be black. white is never an option and silver is right out.
if you own a MINI cooper JCW in any color than BRG you’re retarded.
Mustangs are sports cars, Camaros are for picking up mistresses, showing off your coke habit or visiting the drag strip, Challengers are grand touring cars, make you look like you have a small penis but are actually rather nice places to be while touring the back roads in leisure.
GM is better than ford but ford makes better cars in their segments for anything under a full size.
Umm.. I’m gonna stop now..

2000 Chevy S10. Still on my first car at 20 years old!
I would never want to DD a classic. Not only do they not deserve the abuse but furthermore I do not want to die in an accident.

For a daily driver, automatic, power everything (including seat), safety features (airbags all over the damn place because I’m a crazy parent), enough power to not be out of it (I run out of power, floored gas pedal in my wife’s Commander) and decent gas mileage.
Oh and I like cloth seats.

I like analog speedometers with tick marks every 5 mph, no more, no less. Why? Because all speed limits in the United States are in increments of 5 mph. And I need to be able to tell, at a moment’s glance, whether I’m going above or below that speed. Don’t make me f*cking eyeball the halfway point between 40 and 50. Put a mark there!
Some cars get this wrong by having too many tick marks but not having a mark at 5 mph increments. Witness the 2014 Subaru Forester, the 2002 Toyota Camry, and others.
Some cars get this wrong by not having enough tick marks; there’s nothing at all between 40 and 50. Witness the 2001 Mercedes-Benz E320.
