Tomorrow is my first day going back to school after many, many years. Which vehicle should I drive?
blacktruck or the Lincoln
Shitty night shots to help your decisions.
A little background to help your decisions.
1. I am 34 years old. Get off my lawn. I am old enough to be have sired some of you damn youngin’s.
2. The weather tomorrow is supposed to be mid 70’s and sunny. This matters because I still have gotten the Lincoln’s A/C converted to R134 so, it kind of doesn’t A/C. But it will be cool enough for windows down cruising.
3. The Lincoln is a 4 door ‘79 Continental.
4. blacktruck is a ‘14 Ram 1500 RCSB Hemi
Also, I still haven’t named the Lincoln so, I am taking suggestions.
Thanks.
UPDATE: As of 11:55pm CT I am going to bed so I am not a grumpy prick tomorrow. If any posts I will reply in the morning. Thank’s for all the opponion’s for the Lincoln’s name and I still have decided what I am driving tomorrow.

Lincoln. Classy as f*ck. And 70 is nothing, we get 90-100 nearly daily here in CA, so even having A/C doesn’t always help...

Id take the truck at least for the first day.

Which one do you feel cooler in? Good luck, I’m going back to school this week as well.
![]() 08/23/2015 at 23:36 |

Just cruise in style with the Lincoln, it’s different/classic and blacktruck will understand. The kin of blacktruck will be prevalent already, brotrucks and pickups galore in my campus lots atleast.
![]() 08/23/2015 at 23:36 |
|
The real question is which one will you care about more when some asshole backs into it? That’s the one you leave at home.
![]() 08/23/2015 at 23:36 |
|
That’s how it’s been here lately with ridiculous humidity. I have still been driving the Lincoln pretty regularly.

Import a Suzuki Every Joy Pop Turbo, or GTFAC

I was kind of having the same thoughts, I know blacktruck won’t break down. I am pretty sure the Lincoln won’t break down.
![]() 08/23/2015 at 23:41 |

Which one do you care less about, I've picked up a few door dings since I started college
![]() 08/23/2015 at 23:43 |
|
Whoa, you will never compare blacktruck to a bro truck in anyway. Do it again and
![]() 08/23/2015 at 23:46 |
|
I feel pretty cool in both, it’s in completely different ways though. In blacktruck I feel cool like I have a/c, in the Lincoln I feel cool like if anyone has ho’s that need pimpin’ I can help them out.
![]() 08/23/2015 at 23:50 |

Clearly you don’t understand that the only factors I use when buying vehicles is weight and gas footage.
![]() 08/23/2015 at 23:51 |
|
Oh ya, good luck with school.
![]() 08/23/2015 at 23:52 |

No offence intended friend, never meant to say blacktruck was brogarbage. Poor choice of words.
![]() 08/23/2015 at 23:54 |
|
Unfortunately both, but, when I went to order my books and find my classes the other day I found a nice parking lot I think I can hide my cars in the back of.
![]() 08/23/2015 at 23:56 |
|
I think I found good parking where I might be able to hide my vehicles to avoid door dings. That being said, the Lincoln is too long for the parking lots on campus, I will be running the risk of someone running into it no matter where it’s parked.

Who’s the cutest little kitteh in the whole world, who’s the cutest little kitteh in the whole world? You’re the cutest little kitteh in the whole world.
All is forgiven.

Lincoln is the way to go. Everyone loves old fullsize american sedans.

I’m old enough to have sired you, youngster. Drive the Stinkin’ Lincoln. That weather is perfect.
There, I gave it a name for you.
And if I had a lawn, I’d tell you to get off it.
Congrats on going back to school!

More background. What is the field of study. If it’s something akin to law, by all means, the Lincoln of course.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 00:04 |

I’d take the Lincoln, I’m hoping to use the Impala to drive to school a few times this semester, but parking it will be a real PITA compared to the little Cruze.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 00:04 |
|
That’s so true, I get way more compliments and thumbs up when I am driving it than I ever thought I would. I have been extremely surprised.

PS: check oppositelock

time to expand your horizons, son!
![]() 08/24/2015 at 00:08 |

Impala? Pics please?
Yes, it is a huge PITA to park, I think I am at about 50% getting it perfect on the first try.

Don’t have any off hand, I’d like to get it detailed and more importantly retinted before I show it off. The tint on it is well over 15 years old at this point.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 00:17 |

My horizons are pretty expanded. I have owned a ton of different cars. Right now I just happen to own 2 gas guzzling freedom mobiles (one of which was built in Mexico by an Italian owned company).
I think once I sell the Lincoln I do need something European though, right now I am thinking a Mini, that could change tomorrow though.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 00:20 |

The Lincoln? Why? Just because. Okay, okay: it’s cooler, it’s more intimidating, it’s going to give you better mojo for starting off the school year right and most importantly it’s the definition of original & unique. And thus you should also give it the nickname “The Liberator” for liberating the roads of being entirely littered with boring econoboxes while you’re in it (a nick-name it will share with the great 16th President). Enjoy!

That’s awesome.

NOOOO... Suzuki Every Joy Pop Turbo... Or a Honda ACTY kei van

![]() 08/24/2015 at 00:24 |

Neither... ride a bicycle instead. Mid 70s and sunny sounds like perfect weather for it. And it has the added bonuses of easy parking and of you not caring as much if someone backs into it.
Of course I’m assuming the school isn’t too far away.
And I suggest the name ‘Ahmed’... which is the most popular boys name in Saudi Arabia. And I suggest that for the Lincoln because of the copious amount of oil-based products it will use if driven regularly.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 00:25 |

No stinking Lincoln doesn’t work, especially since I got the mouse pee smell out.
I think there’s you and 2 other regular posters old enough to be my dad. Go change your diaper and take your Metamucil old man.

Supply Chain Management, I don’t think either of Mt vehicles fit that. Supply Chain Management says mid level Lexus, or a 5-series to me.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 00:34 |
|
School is entirely too far to ride, if we were closer to campus I definitely would have bought a bike or scooter.
I really like Ahmed, my car probably paid for a mansion or two in Saudi Arabia in its lifetime. The only problem I have with it is people, could think it’s racist. I only say that because I am ex U.S. Army and I would hate for someone to think that it’s some play on fighting war’s in the middle east.

The S60...

I love my truck but, the Lincoln is way cooler. “The Liberator” is an awesome nick name. I think it’s #1 on the list right now.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 00:39 |

Mrs. Blacktruck’s, she is running errands tomorrow, she will need it. That being said if I leave blacktruck she will probably take it to run her errands.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 00:40 |

Damn, is the tint purple or brown? Can’t wait to see pics of it.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 00:44 |

I would rather import a Sunny. I love these trucks.
http://www.japaneseclassicsllc.com/1989-custom-ni…
Kei vans scare me, I drove a couple in Korea and I was always scared I would flip it if I needed to take any evasive actions.

“Marge, you see that?” “Oi Vey, I tell you. Kids these days, They got no respect, no respect”.

How bout the Wrangler.
In no then the Lincoln.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 01:23 |

Is the truck’s nickname “blacktruck?” Might I suggest Black Sheep? You know... since it’s a Ram.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 02:36 |

purple and bubbly.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 04:49 |

I’d go with the Lincoln.
And I’m liking the the name Abe. Because teal and Lincoln:

I was going to say Lincoln because it’s so cool and stylish.
But if blacktruck saves you some stress on the first day, then be good to yourself and take that. You can risk a car breakdown later when you know the lay of the land.

Take the Trans Am

There’s always one smart guy. The Wrangler is the neighbors.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 08:48 |

Well played, I have never wanted a Trans-am and a REO Speedwagon t-shirt more then I do right now.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 08:51 |

Ya, the truck is blacktruck, I like that but, I am sticking with blacktruck. I can’t just rename it after almost 2 years.
![]() 08/24/2015 at 08:56 |

I am leaning the same way. Also, I don’t want to have throw an extra shirt in my backpack if the weather report is wrong.

Thank you for this, I just posted it to a buddy’s facebook. He is going back to school today also.
