Went to grill out and swim with some friends last night since they just had a deck and pool put in.
Pugs are not water dogs. Binkie was not pleased when we put her in the pool. She also didn’t trust the boogie board.

When we take my aunt’s pug down to Lake Norman, we have one of those dog life jackets for her (with a top handle). But the best part is when you pick up Ms. Gracie, she starts paddling because she loves to just motor around by the dock.
If we are out on a boat, she will not let you go into the water around the boat, however.

Whenever we swim in our pool, my dog just paces around the pool staring at us from the edge. We don’t let her in, because she sheds waaaaay too much.

We really ought to get one of those soon if we're going to keep putting her in the water. She may enjoy it.

Binkie spent most of the evening pacing around the pool whining at us because she was afraid to jump in.
And she's a champion shedder too, but since she's not around much our friends didn't mind having her in.

Since we don’t have a fence around our pool within a fence, we don’t won’t her thinking she can get in when we aren’t there, so not letting her in period is the best way to do that. Plus, she actually prefers getting splashed and the like.
