Both currently available on Trademe in NZ:
From Rolls Royce: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! k. 27 litre Meteor V12. ex Australian Army, saw service in Vietnam.
From Skoda: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . 39 litre supercharged V12 diesel.
Both are demilitarized, unfortunately, but still classed as firearms in NZ, so you’ll need a firearms license (though interestingly, the seller is saying a Cat A license, which is the regular shotguns and rifles license, not one of the restricted weapons ones). Also it’s a safe bet they’re not road registered!
So which is it, gamble $NZ80k on the faster, smaller T55 with 39 litres of supercharged diesel goodness and extra sovietness? Or splash out an extra $12k and play it safe with one of the most common and longest running tank designs in the world (launched 1945 and still in service), powered by simply one of the best engines ever, the Rolls Royce Meteor (aka “Merlin without a supercharger”).

I’d take the Skoda, no replacement for displacement!

Yes, but diesel :-(. With that engine, you’re driving an overgrown truck. Whereas with a Meteor, you’re flying the world’s heaviest (and slowest) Spitfire!
