Looks like I’m getting Pilot Super Sports for $100 less per tire when they need replacing.

That's fairly reasonable. We paid $1000 for the winter rims and tires for our Echo, and those were only 14s. For summer 18s, that's not too bad.

The good news is that there is a wide selection of tires in that size :)
Walmart has the Falken Ziex ZE914 for only $105.84
The Falken Ziex ZE950 is $110
Nitto NT-01 for $182.57
Even the Michelin Pilot Super Sport is only $187
Don’t pay $250 each when Michelin is cheaper. I follow the “Michelin rule” when it comes to tires. If you can afford Michelin, get them, if they’re available in your size. Especially when they’re not the most expensive option!
EDIT: jsut saw the last line at the bottom of your OP. Good call.

I’ve has Michelin PSS on another car, best tire for your dollar hands down.

It isn’t but it seems overpriced compared to the Michelins.

Too bad they’re not available in 205/65-15 :(
The Pilot Sport AS3 isn’t, either.

Seems like you would just about pay less for a set of RE003’s! My Father has them on his car, sooo much grip, even from a 215.
