fun fact
apparently everything in prewar racers was so manual, the mechanic was there primarily to 1. pump pressure into the gas tank 2. look cool 3. light the mixture in the cylinders by match. 2000 rpm x 4 cylinders = 8000 matches a minute/~133 matches a second. they just don’t make ‘em like that anymore
