That says “cricket”.... But I wouldn’t mind watching cricket either. I do think it’s work looking for some free options. I’m spending my morning trying to figure out how to cut the cord on Dish, or at least cut back on programming, while still getting the sports stuff I like to watch. I’m still stuck in the old cable TV frame of mind.

NBC and Universal Sports will be carrying it. NBC will show the semi final and final IIRC but it’s pretty piss poor coverage.

Okay, that’s what I thought. Thanks for the confirmation.

I would recommend installing the KODI operating system on something.

You can put it on windows or Mac or, my preference a raspberry pi, lots and lots of international sports.

That’s the thing; I need to enter the 21st century when it comes to TV. I’m still stuck in the 1985 cable TV mindset. I still working on educating myself on all the modern streaming options, video services (we have Netflix), etc. But I’m starting by cutting my Dish back to the lowest tier possible and see if we miss anything. My kids only watch Netflix and YouTube as it is. And I only watch sports.

The biggest battle is USA Sports live when you don’t have cable/dish.

International sports are a breeze, shame I don’t watch any (except a couple races). The KODI system has options to stream movies and tv shows that you’re paying for on Netflix - for free.

The operating system isn’t quite as pretty/easy as netflix but it’s easy enough that my non-tech wife uses it perfectly fine once I showed her the first time. And I cut cable all together and just have internet.

I went from 105 a month to the cable company (HD, Cable TV, DVR, etc) down to 20 a month for just internet.

I will definitely check this out. I just got off the chat with Dish (we’ve had them for years) and found out that NBC Sports (F1, IndyCar, EPL Soccer, Tour de France) is only available on their top two packages. Bastards. So now I’m going to start looking at UVerse, DirecTV, etc. But I will definitely check out the KODI. Thanks for the tip.

No problem, if you have any questions about it, “add-on’s” for it (apps, they call them add-ons...I think just to be difficult), if you want me to test something on mine to see if I can get it running, happy to.

The thing to remember with KODI, is it’s all free content. Sometimes it’ll glitch, sometimes a stream will die mid show or movie, you just select the next stream inline and it resumes where you were. To me, that’s a very minor inconvenience to get it all for free. For some people they’re willing to pay for it to be perfect.

If you’re willing to pay, look up Sling TV, they kind of let you pick what shows you want to pay for. It’s not slingbox, but Sling TV

Thanks. It's a brave new world of streaming content, and I'm still learning how to swim.
