I always forget that the V8 Vantage GT is crazy cheap (for an Aston). Talk about a vehicle that looks more expensive than it is. Why don’t I see reviews with his Aston against things like the F-type S MT, 911 Carrear MT, R8 MT, etc.?

That’s a very good question because I’d probably buy the Aston over any of those cars you mentioned. Isn’t it a limited-edition model?

I’m not sure it is since it’s cheaper than the base V8 Vantage. Usually limited editions are more expensive, especially when they take out features. Look how much you pay for a GT350R or Boxster Spyder to have the AC removed.

Because it would get blown out of the water by all of the cars you listed.

I figure it’s such a niche car (manual, V8, more aggressive suspension and whatnot) it would have to be a low-volume seller regardless of price. Maybe websites and magazines figure it’s too specialized or too rare enough to be cross-shopped?

And all those cars would be killed by Z06, CTS-Vs, M3s and so on. There is more to this decision, and this car just does it for me personally.

Maybe. For me, it’s like an all natural V8 F-type with a GT3/GT4 set up. Meaning that price is dead on.

as others have noted, because the aston would be thoroughly trashed in any comparison to those cars.
not because its not a good car per se, but its just ~10 years old, vs the cars you note being designed and developed with much more modern tech.
i’d still probably take one over a new base carrera and definitely over an r8.
