I took my truck to the dump to get rid of some soil and I took the opportunity to weigh the cruiser.

Kinja'd!!!

Ouch.

That’s with me and my 4 year old and about 100 lbs of stuff in it. So figure something like 5500 lbs without us (full take of gas, etc). Stock its “supposed” to be 4850 lbs. I wanted to know partially cause I’ve always wanted to know, and partly because I was charged an extra few bucks for being over 9000 GCW with the trailer (9300 lbs). How I felt driving off.

That is the weight of my 1/2 ton truck with 3/4 tank of gas and a bunch of tools. But that’s what my title says it’s supposed to be, so not really a surprise. What have you got in there that it’s 1,000 lbs over?

Armor, bigger tires, roof stuff and I generally think that the listed weight was bone dry with no fluids.

Frankly, I’m surprised they listed a Cruiser at 4800 lbs. That seems a tad light. I think my short wheel-base base model Envoy is 4650 stock.

Yeah, I did all the math and my only logic is that it must have been a no options model (no lockers, no running boars, no sliding rear glass, no sunroof, etc) and without fluids. Because if I subtract all the stuff (being generous) I’m left at something like 5050 lbs, 200 lbs overweight still.

Damn, that’s a hefty Cruiser. Your kid must be stashing stuff in between your seats without you realizing.

It’s pretty light compared to what a lot of these build up rigs weigh. 6800 lbs empty isn’t uncommon

Exactly, is not hard to build a 3.5 ton 80 series

True. I’m stuck thinking of everything in Crown Vic terms now. With my big barge weighing in at 3800lbs, another 1000lbs.+ over that seems mammoth, hahaha.

That’s not exactly where I was going, but I’ll accept it.

Jeez. The desert truck is under 4,000 with both the light bar and the spare tire on board.
