The F12 is not supposed to be renting rooms in the same dorm as a 911 RS and 488 GTB. It should be tiered with the Aventador and the Huayra, in my opinion.

The Huracan and new Ford GT are in the right tier. The F12? No. At least for me.

Closer to the Vanquish and the FF, even though it’s much faster, because front engined.

The Vanquish and FF are also front engined, so I’m not sure the F12 is faster because of where the cylinders are firing.

Here’s why Porsche can honestly ask supercar sized numbers for the 911; your next best car if you don’t want to just get a C7 is 2x/3x more money, and in some cases, it will still be outperformed by the Porsche.

I’d still rather have a 650S than a 488GTB.

Hmmm...I’d say the same for the FF and the F12, plus maybe the Vanquish. Aren’t those all grand tourers? I could almost argue the same for the 911, but I’d still call this version a pure sports car.

Same here. I’ll take the spider.

Performance-wise the 488 is on par with the F12, at least if you give weight to Fiorano times. The F12 shouldn’t be in the same tier as the Huayra - not when it is $1.2 million cheaper, but the similar horsepower make them an interesting comparison. How do they compare on track? F12 should definitely be compared to the Aventador and Vanquish, and probably the new GT on price and performance (GT will cost $400k and should out-perform everything else in the chart).

That was badly put. I meant they should be grouped together because they are all front engined. Even though the F12 is faster.

That said, I haven't the slightest idea what this list is about.

Ah.

I would think these should be grouped by function, in which case the FF, F12, and Vanquish should be on their own list (although why Ferrari has two GT cars still boggles my mind).

I’ll be honest: the real reason why I wanted to see the F12 tiered with the other V12 Italians is that, well, it’s a V12 Italian car; a classic one, at that. The performance is secondary; they’re along the same region overall for me.

Those three cars are pretty much a tier all its own, as I see it now. Scrunch the Vanquish in, though it’s more a business ultra-exotic than weapons-grade exotic.

Ferrari has 2 GT cars because nothing at Ferrari is supposed to make sense.

That’s because the F12 isn’t really that much of a GT car—it’s a weaponized FF.

The F12 has been put up with the Aventador a few times.
