I have had an odd day.

1. While driving down to Wilmington/Carolina Beach, NC for, um, beach activities, we see a 40-something year old guy in a lifted Silverado Duramax and pulling a boat, and is travelling at about 95-100 MPH, and weaving in and out of lanes. Thanks for jeapordizing a few dozen people’s lives!

2. I nearly got run over by a woman in a Suzuki XL-7 (the weird late 2000’s one), while I was walking into Carolina Beach’s McDonald’s.

3. I saw an abandoned Range Rover Classic that hadn’t been tagged since 2009, behind a small business. (No SR20, because I didn’t have time)

4. While coming back from Wilmington, we stop at an Exxon, and the car at the pump next to ours was a rusted out XJ Cherokee on Pennsylvania plates that was very loud. So loud, in fact, that I had to up the volume in my headphones. I was listening to, “Ignition (Remix),” because I miss the early 2000’s.

5. Just about fifteen minutes before writing this, I am walking in Cary, NC’s Crossroad’s Shopping Centre parking lot with Michael’s as my destination (I am secretly a crafty middle aged woman), when I see a, “business dad,” in a Georgia registered Kia Cadenza rental car, with all the windows down, and, “It Was A Good Day,” by Ice Cube playing at absolute maximum volume.

It was a good day for me as well, Business Dad.

Has Oppo seen anything interesting in the last day or so?

I saw a ‘77 International Harvester Scout convertible (or at least with the roof chopped off) on Sunday. I know it was a ‘77, because on the side it said “ ‘77 Scout”

I can add two things to this that are surprising/interesting from yesterday:

1) A kia traveling next to us on the highway with a broken hubcap sticking wayyyyy out from the wheel. We called it “the spinning hubcap of death” and tried to get video, but it’s not very good.

2) on the way home, in the dark at night on a busy highway, a BMW X5 towing a large boat down the middle lane of a 3 lane highway, 15-20 mph below everybody else’s speed, NO TRAILER LIGHTS AT ALL, and he couldn’t keep the boat in his lane. In addition having a totally dark trailer and tall boat blocking the view of his car, weaving his dark trailer into the next lanes, he’s GOT HIS HIGH BEAMS ON. Argh. He probably didn’t realize that the reason he couldn’t see shit was because they lights were aimed at the sky... I was really pissed watching that guy.

Yeah, I actually talked to the guy for a second as he was pulling out of the parking lot. His dad bought it new when the driver was in high school, and it was given to him as his truck for college. He did a rebuild of it about ten years ago.
