Man mowing lots recognized the car from the morning news. No signs of damage.

Sounds like they dumped it once they realized what it is. Not even Detroit car thieves want to mess with a Camaro driving serial killer.

Yea, can’t blame ‘em either. Probably too much heat on that car.

Did the same thing as stolen NASCAR car from a while back. Dumped the noteworthy car, kept the trailer.

Wait, it had been stolen? The last I heard of it was that its owner at the time had converted it into a drag racer. Well, it’s still great that it’s been found, hopefully it will be returned soon.

All that money and no GPS tracker? After a big search trying to be re-united just a few years back? WTF, “Big Papa”?

From Jalopnik - http://jalopnik.com/some-dick-stol…
The car rarely leaves Kentucky where it’s displayed at the company’s headquarters, but was towed up here for the Dream Cruise.
It was originally stolen off of E. Jefferson Ave. in Detroit, but the truck was located in the 900 block of Woodbridge.

Seems easy to steal a trailer … but when the goods will bring some heat, guess it makes sense to just drop it like its hot.

Bet money it’ll have one now.

Plot twist: Inside job, truck driver had his cousin take truck & trailer with car, ditch the truck & trailer first, make sure Big Papa John misses his car long enough to to post a reward, cousin starts mowing grass at an abandoned house an OMG!! Here’s your car, I’ll take that reward money.

To pay for my healthcare costs. And keep that PZZA1 plate just because.

Who the hell parks a trailer with a muscle car on it on east Jefferson in detroit?

Jalopnik’s brief explanation was a bit misleading. According to the news it was taken from the Marriott’s parking lot which is on Jefferson, but right downtown next to the RenCen. So it seems like a security guard really didn’t do his job and keep things secure.

Well technically they ditched the truck a few blocks away and the trailer is still missing.
The PZZA1 plate is going to be a great souvenir though.

Glad to see the car was apparently undamaged.

Agreed. Only a lost plate seems tiny compared to what could’ve happened.
