WRONG
1. Smoked AND Pulled
![]() 08/13/2015 at 22:02 |
|
That is pork , not ham. You don’t go to the store to buy pulled ham.
![]() 08/13/2015 at 22:03 |

1. Prosciutto, Country, Taylors
1.5. Bacon
2. Black Forrest
3. All other forms of ham

In Alabama, when we smoke a ham, we pull it like pork. It does not taste the same as pulled pork. It is amazing. You can buy it in stores or in quarts at bbq joints.

“A quart of meat.”
![]() 08/13/2015 at 22:19 |

Take the fresh shredded meat, put it in a quart size container, take it home, put it on: Sandwich, Plate, Potato, etc.

‘tis a silly meat

Blasphemy.
Peppered is great, as is smoked. Honey is only good if it is one of those crazy sugar-impregnated spiral-cut ones.

No. Like this:

This is only because you have never had really good bacon. Grocery stores do not carry really good bacon.

If not for the salt, it would be number 5.

You missed the best ham of all... Prosciutto.

Nuh uh... Prosciutto is subzero ...
![]() 08/14/2015 at 00:23 |

It goes more like this...
1. Bacon
2. BBQ pulled
3. Black forest
4. Smoked
5. Prosciutto
6. Peppered
7. Everything else
Ham. Pork. Same difference. They all come from the same animal family.

Now tell me, what makes ham ‘Black Forest’?
![]() 08/14/2015 at 02:19 |

I miss charcuterie so much.... Curse you for reminding me :/ Anyway there’s nothing like homemade smoked ham. Smoked in that kind of place:
It’s like a big chimney, we call it a Tuyé and it’s typical of the Franche-Comté région in France (east, near the Swiss border. Maint cities are Besançon, Pontarlier, that kind of places).

I dunno, I think I’ve had some pretty good bacon. And I do love bacon, but frankly part of this is that I’m kind of over the bacon “thing.” Everyone is putting bacon on and in everything now, and it’s slightly annoying.

Is the Ukranian ham irradiated?
![]() 08/14/2015 at 10:06 |

A curing process originating from the Black Forest region in Germany.

Yes, but bacon will forever be good and good bacon will never be put in everything. Most of the bacon additions are mediocre bacons.

Good point.
