So... on a lark, took the “internet price*” from Baltimore dealer to our local Subie dealer, and told them “We were going to go to Baltimore to pick up this car, but we figured we might as well see if you guys can match it.”

And they actually beat it by a couple hundred. I’m sure this is nothing impressive on a car that is admittedly having some trouble leaving lots, but it’s the deepest cut I’ve ever gotten on a new car. Nearly $4k under MSRP.

Shame about the silver, though.

For me, paint color is one of the most important aspects of the car. However, would you rather have $4,000 or blue paint? The silver really isn't THAT bad.

I'd prefer it in a different color too, but the silver isn't really so bad that you should spend $4,000 to get a different color. I could live with it. If it was something awful like baby barf green it would be a totally different story.

Just kidding! I’ve got an FR-S and love it, perfect way to buy a prettier, newer, more betterer 240sx with modern touches and a comparably healthy aftermarket. They make pretty damn good track cars too...

It is really boring, like catastrophically boring. I would never consider it. Its also the silver they used is almost too fuzzy. There isn’t heavy enough flake. If they had gone bigger flake or no flake and maybe a little darker it would be a good color. But as it is I want a Black Silica one, drive it till I am bored of black and wrap it in a plain white.

I’m not really a fan of black cars, but when I got my 135is, a black one was sitting on the lot at my local BMW dealer with the exact options mix I wanted. They gave me a great price. At least it’s carbon black, which is metallic and has some blue flake to it. So...I have a black car.

I can’t do silver though. Just not my thing.

The BRZ actually comes in a really nice white. It’s got a sort of satin/pearl finish to it. (I think it’s red metallic flakes in the paint).

European buyers have to pay for Metallic (~$550-725 I think) special colors can cost $1000+, custom colors $5000+ (I believe)

They are perfectly fine and quite fun for controlled oversteer. I still use them outside of winter or rallycross

I just emailed the Internet sales representatives and told them I needed a price quote via email so I wouldn't waste my time running around to different dealers. Once I got a quote, I forwarded it to the next dealer and asked them to beat it.

Awesome deal. I’m pretty disappointed in the color choices. Neutral or red or blue. Nothing interesting. the white is actually kind of nice. Should call every color ‘not-red’. A nice dark green would be, uh, nice.
