Everyone loves making sparks while working. I have a long history of taking a grinder to parts of Mazdas. So here is some of them and lets see yours.

Never, ever , ever turn your back on your friends while working.

Everyone loves making sparks while working.
What if you have some kind of office job? Surely a spontaneous spray of sparks raining from you as you sit at a desk is quite alarming? I’d seek medical attention immediately.

Ah - that’s the time I was told to “securely erase” a palm pilot. Having no idea what I was doing, I jammed a screwdriver in the end and started smushing bits around. Until it started shooting sparks and smoke out of it... yeah, job done! Last time somebody asked me to do that though...

That’s my ‘73 Buick LeSabre. Nobody makes replacement sheetmetal for it, so I had to learn how to make it all from scratch. Many more pics at Flickr link:

That is a nice looking car I wish I had that much space to work on mine.

Did you say safety?
This was posted on one of the Chevelle Blogs. I ended up using it in a presentation.

Thanks! It’s still primered in the rear quarters, but overall it’s a very solid car. My grandparents bought it new and it’s been passed down to me through family. I’ve had it since 1989 or so.
The space and tools is thanks to the local Voc Tech high school - they have adult ed evening classes in auto body where you basically bring in whatever you want, and their instructors hang around and watch you work on it. You have full access to their very cool metalworking tools, welders, spray booths, paint mixers and all! I highly recommend looking into it if you want to do this kind of work yourself but don’t have the equipment or an appropriate space. My home garage is much smaller!

Well the issue for me right now is my project doesn’t run or drive. No drive shaft and brakes. so its in a shed. But I will look into that as a possibility there is a tech school in town. I’m also lucky enough that my Mother in Law owns a garage which my Brother in Law manages.

Ah yes - the immobile project. I’ve been trying very hard to keep mine mobile so I can drive it to and from auto body class.
However, lots of people bring individual panels in to work on, so in smaller chunks it can still be done! It’s actually much easier to work on a panel here and there, it’s very hard to prep and paint a car in a 3 hour class, not enough time. I am tempted to pass my work over to a bodyshop for the final spray, but I’d really love to do it myself.
