A Land Rover Defender 90 TD5 in black metallic. Should be interesting.

Kinja'd!!!

EDIT:

So after a full exterior decon, wash and seal I was visited by a neighbours Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo, another neighbours Peugeot 207 and yet another neighbours BMW Z3 (got that was a heap, didn’t even take pics as it was basically cleaning a turd and making it shiny).

So here’s some piccys.

EDIT: nummer zwei. ALso had to clean the wheels on the VW EOS in the first picture and clean off a few bird bombs as well as polish the ‘ghost’ of the bird bomb that had burnt into the black roof.

Since it’s a Landie it needs to be reverse washed. Take it on a nice trail then hand it back to them haha.

If I’m quick, can I come over and swap his rear door for my rear door? I need a new one.

I finished cleaning it about an hour or so ago. Just did a quick wash on a Peugeot 207 and waiting on another neighbour to come back with his BMW cabrio to clean.

It looks okay in person but you can feel the tree-fallout where trees have sweated on it and left a rough texture.

Meanwhile I got covered in grease changing the crank angle sensor on a Micra that barely has paint anymore. I don’t get nice things to work on haha.

I don’t thing he’ll be happy with that idea. Lol.

Saying that it’s not been looked after, there’s swirls and scratches where he’s had a go at cleaning it and rubbed at getting a bird bomb or something off.

I don’t always either. I'm presently doing a T reg BMW Z3. The paint is awful, the Alpina wheels have been sprayed in silver metal spray because they need fully refurbed, there is a big rust hole behind the front driver side wheel arch to match the one in front of the driver side rear wheel arch. The car is a shed.

I love how that skoda looks. Why can't we get nice hatches like that in freedomland?

Because Freedomland isn’t as free as it’s made out to be. Lol.

That’s a second generation Fabia. I think the current, third generation looks even better.

It’s all markets and legislation. For one VW would have to crash test so many cars on top of the ones they’ve already crash tested for the rest of the world to comply and VW would never recoup the money on the number of cars sold in the North American market.

I can buy a car in the U.S. tomorrow and have it shipped within the week, have it arrive in the U.K. take it to a VOSA station and as long as I put a fog lamp on the rear (if it didn’t have one), adjust the engine for U.K. fuel, have the emissions tested to find out what tax band the car fell in and what duty I’d be paying, then go to the DVLA and get it registered and be on the road within days.

If countries would just adopt a universal guideline for cars, we could probably actually have a global car market. But nope as usual, countries (mostly the “land of the free”) have to be different and difficult

You’ll also need orange rear indicators and white sidelights.

If the U.S. had dual indicator and side lights then they would have to be separated and have a separate unit for each, yes. I’m not sure about ‘white’ sidelights though, just as long as they were separate units.

Orange sidelights are illegal because of confusion with indicators although you might get away with them.

Ah man, they should really be taking it to a body shop, not for a wash...

I couldn’t even bring myself to take a few pictures for my FB album.

The passenger door was really badly scuffed, the front passenger wing was scratched, rear passenger wing had deep vertical scratches on top of the rest.

You know when even throwing a bucket of water makes it look better and you think, ‘I could call it a day’? Never mind. I’ve eight cans of Old Speckled Hen (okay five left, give me 20 seconds and there will be four left).

It’s got a large ding in the driver’s door but otherwise she’s in great condition and looked after. He uses it for work and when he has his daughter stopping.
