Let’s say the mileage and condition is legitimate. I’d say £8k could be justified as an asking price, had it been original. However:

Modifications of its time/era

In 2007 receipts document the following basic modifications :

1. Alloys -£500
2. lexus style rear lights -£250
3. Big bore exhaust - £500
4. Lowering springs -£500
5. M3 style mirrors -£ unlimited 250
6. Headlight
7. Grill -£250
8. Bonnet with hump -£250

Total drop in value: £2500

Total price, if condition is legitimate: £5500. At best. Bring it back to original condition and it might be worth far more. And yes, I realize bringing it back to original tends to cost less than the prices I quoted, but these tasteless modifications have a bigger effect on value than what they actualy cost to repair.

I’d slap the retard who molested this car in 2007 in the face. I’d also kick the seller in the nuts for offering this poor car this way.

Not a chance.

You can have this one for £8,000. Two owners very well cared for all original with 36,100 miles.

A superbly original example of a 1.6 205 GTi that has covered only 36,150 miles from new.

It is clear that the two previous owners have garaged and cared for the little car all its life as it is in brilliant condition both inside and out.

This would not only make a great usable classic, but is also a smart investment for the future given the rarity of such a low mileage unmolested example.

HISTORY
This 205 was first registered in January 1986 to a Foster Benson of Chancery Lane, London. It remained in his ownership until it was purchased by a Mrs Carmel Hurst in 1990 who owned the car until 2011 when the current owner took ownership. Despite the car’s modest mileage, it features a comprehensive service history with 12 stamps in the service book; the last being a major service (including cambelt change) carried out in February at 36,100 miles. The car comes with the original owners manuals and service book, a selection of supporting documentation and two sets of keys.

EXTERIOR
Finished in Alpine White, this GTi is in a great condition with only a couple of minor age related marks visible to the bodywork; this includes some small stone chips to the bonnet and front bumper, a scratch to the nearside rear quarter panel and a couple of other very small marks on the boot. These are only noticeable upon close inspection. The black trim and red detailing are in a great condition and more significantly, this car does not suffer from rust!

INTERIOR
The interior looks almost as it did when it left the factory in 1986 with no wear to the seats and only a few small marks visible to the red carpets. The steering wheel and plastic trim are immaculate, the clear sports dials operate faultlessly, as does the switchgear. The car benefits from a fully operational sunroof, unmarked headlining and perfect fully trimmed door cards.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
A must drive for any car enthusiast is a factory standard 205 1.6 GTi, famed for being more revvy and eager than 1.9 variants. This earlier 1.6 litre engine produces 105BHP at 6250 rpm which in a car only weighing 850 KGS, equates as tremendous fun! Having been well maintained by just a few owners this car drives impeccably with a cambelt change, brand new radiator an exhaust installed within the last 2 months. There are no signs of corrosion to the inner wings along with zero signs of deterioration to any of the plastics, rubber trim, or soundproofing.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original 14” pepper pot alloy wheels have just been refurbished and consequently are in mint condition. All wheels are shod with Michelin tyres and have plenty of tread remaining. The braking system works perfectly and has benefited from a fluid change during the last service in February.

Viewing and test drives are welcome and highly recommended so you can see this car and its qualities for yourself.

Car is located in Wandsworth, London.

That sounds about right. There was a fully restored 205 GTI here in Belgium that they were asking 9500 Euro for. We all about fell out of our chairs when we discussed it, but the listing included photos of all-new/rebuilt suspension components with the car on a lift, etc. It was better than factory new.

Shouldn’t one notice a massive wall of text in place of a couple pictures?

One did notice rather a large amount of text however one didn’t think anything of it as the original text was already of some size and my mind went with the notion that it was the inability of my top of the lap appliance not playing ball.

However not being able to edit the text, simply isn’t cricket, what.

“Best example ever! It has some dings and a fist size dent just like you would expect for a car of this age.”

Well no.. douche bag, I wouldn’t expect a dent the size of my fucking hand on the best example of this car at all. Put it in a car cocoon after 18 yrs, a dent, and cosmetic mods, because why? Oh that’s right, because its a 91 and it’s a true “barn find”.. Lol fuck this guy.
