What car would you lift, throw some knobby tires on, and rally/hoon off road?
![]() 08/10/2015 at 10:57 |

Assuming that those aren’t the only things I’m allowed to do, Murano CrossCabriolet.

all of them!!! but no really a Suzuki SX4 with turbo and a lift with knobby tires give me a raging hard on... But If i could get a AWD JDM Fit, that would work too.. I always had a weird spot for small AWD shit boxes. haha

A W123 don’t need no stinkin’ knobby tire or lifts.
This guy took his car all over Africa without any major modifications, besides some basic suspension upgrades.

Always considered a set of off road tyres when I had mine.

Almost any.

lol my first thought was all of them!!

“suspension upgrades” sounds suspiciously like a lift...

Came here to post Suzuki SX4 (or Kizashi), with appropriate powertrain mods, of course.

I really want to do a Mad Max Fox body.

I don’t really think that HD springs/shocks give much of a lift. Maybe a half inch over stock, if that.

An Audi Allroad with the 2.7T. Throw a tune and some knobby tires on, and it will be the best family hauler in the history of the world.

Funny thing is, it’s not just a lifted SLK. They grafted an SLK body onto the platform of a short-wheelbase G-wagen.

That’s like 1/2 ton truck levels of ride height there. Like an Eagle without 4wd.

Third gen camaro with a lsx motor.

Viper. It would still have more than enough power to move the big wheels and tires.
In lieu of that, maybe a MazdaSpeed 3 or Nissan Juke

Compare this -
To stock -
It’s half an inch, if even that.

There is a guy farther down the point that I live on, with a lifted New Beetle TDI. It’s pretty sweet. Like this, but grey with different wheels.

Until the turbos eat themselves and it costs you $15k to fix. Trust me, been there. I would love an Allroad, and almost bought a 2.7 S4, until I learned about the turbo issue.

Old or New Chargers (yes that means 2 or 4 door versions)... Or new challenger (practicality be damned!)
Or honestly any of the old school muscle cars!!!

That’s when you throw on a pair of HX35s.

I had the strange thought of doing it to the FoST if it lives long enough to depreciate to dirt.
The thought pops up when I jack it up and throw the winter wheels on. It looks pretty good.

There’s a company that makes a 3” lift kit for the Bonneville, ostensibly so you can fit twenny-fo’s on it. Or so you can fit 235/75/15 BFG All-Terrains on it. Hoon in late 90’s GM style and comfort.

Is that a real SLK? Or is it a G-Class with SLK body?

It was Clarkson’s work, so it's not surprising.

I’d go a little more over the top on my tire choice, just for the extra aggressive look, though.
Make it look a bit more like this XV

Unfortunately I don’t think there’s room. Unless you don’t mind exhaust fab and running without a hood. Which, to be fair, I don’t mind.

time to learn how to use an English wheel.

Best reply is best reply. I’m all about crazy fab work. Make two giant “power bulges” in the hood to hide the massive Holsets.
![]() 08/11/2015 at 11:05 |

Or create a mold out of the stock hood, shape it, and make a custom CF hood.
