A 2004 Alfa 166, like this but silvery green, spotted today. The 166 was sold here up to 2005 but as it’s a large petrol-only car (in RHD markets) it disappeared almost instantly once production stopped because you could hardly give them away used. I haven’t seen one for ages.

It was a commercial failure and Alfa haven’t made a large car since. Haven’t sold too many smaller ones either, mind you - there were only 33 Alfas sold in Ireland up to July and they’re not too common elsewhere either.

I think they may be trying to breathe new life into the brand by reintroduction into the US market.

I have seen some 166s in Finland but not a single one of them was a face lifted model.
