One of my favorites. The 1965 Lincoln Continental. American luxury boat. A Classic American luxury car. Too bad that they lost their grip. Perhaps their new Bentley Continental concept will get traction.

With the recent “crash” of the Chinese auto market, I’m concerned that the new Continental could get put on hold. Seeing as it was intended for that market first and we were just getting it as a byproduct of sorts.

That is sad in all aspects. Hope that it still will be released here.

I had one, years ago. It was very used but I still loved it. I had to get rid of it it after reverse went out in the transmission. The occasional having to push it out of spots was not an easy task since it weighed over 5000 pounds.

Reverse went out? Weird. Usually second gear is the first to kick the bucket

And, it was a transmission unique to the 65. So, no boneyard transmissions were to be had.

Really? I had no idea the 65 had a unique transmission.

Me too. It’d be really cool to have a fancy Lincoln around again.
