Blah blah wife will get new car first blah blah I wish I could get mine soon blah blah ENOUGH TALK. Time for to waste more of mine and your time by posting cars I wish I could buy today, which is something I find myself doing weekly:
And some more I can’t think of.

I would rock the Brat or that Tercel wagon...

Solid choice. I love the proportions but something about it just steers me from actually lusting after it.

Allroads are so nice but so temperamental.

I’m done sugar coating it: I miss my Tercel. I miss it baaaad.

It’s just so unfair... I see them absolutely everywhere. Maybe there’s legions of fools out there, who have cash laying around, or maybe it’s freaking awesome.

I don’t mind my current DD ‘09 Accent hatch, but I really miss my old ‘02 Subaru Impreza 2.5TS affectionally called “Beastie”......
....sold it in 2013 when the rear sub-frame cracked at 170,000kms. Could’ve easily repaired it for $1500-$2000 but figured with the Kms starting to creep up it was more financially feasible to get a newer ride....I would love to have 2nd-gen Impreza wagon again though...

failed for not having a sunroof, folding backseat, or a cheaper V6 version.

the awesome sunroof was only available on the 4-door

My wife is also getting the next car and I also think about what I want to buy next every waking hour of my existence.

They can tow too

Those are wonderful. And affordable. I feel like if I ever did the Landcruiser plunge, it has to be that or this:

It’s easily the least useful car I’ve posted, but I still like them :)

I’m trying to convince my wife to let me trade in the Audi for this

It’s fun innocently shopping for cars, especially when you’re not in a circumstance where you actually need one. I already tried to see I could hypnotize her with a car I actually wanted for myself (because I’m evil) annnnnd no. Shucks.

Get this for your wife? I know you’re in the PNW, but you get the idea https://www.carsforsale.com/vehicle/detail… or this one, which is more expensive but closer to home http://www.autotempest.com/details/dt-612…

Nice! And why not? A bulletproof SUV for your booming family vs the Audi you’ve openly admitted you feel could be on the clock. Two birds, on stone.

I'm actively scheming, trying to do the mental / financial gymnastics to justify and afford a 911. The wife keeps reminding me I bought a car last year after years and years of agonizing over the decision, so she thinks I have a few more years of agony to get through.
![]() 08/07/2015 at 23:44 |

Exactly! What she sees is trading in a paid for car for a 20 year old SUV with a car phone.

Haha this is the antithesis of my wife’s taste in vehicles.
![]() 08/07/2015 at 23:51 |

Aw man. Sorry about that
![]() 08/07/2015 at 23:53 |

Yeah, and that statement in a vacuum does have merit. Again, in a vacuum. I guess if you had a few Gs on top of the trade-in, the Mrs. might be more sold on the idea as you’ll owe much less than anticipated. Not to mention the lower price you’ll get with haggling.

It’s okay. I’m just happy to have a wife that doesn’t insist on financing a new car or a used luxury car.
![]() 08/07/2015 at 23:55 |

Hey man that’s what matters. What are yall looking at getting (realistically)?
![]() 08/07/2015 at 23:57 |

There’s no swaying her. “we’re done buying old cars”
She comes from a family that new meant good and reliable. While my family kept things because you could count on.

My family is the same way. My dad bought one car new (1981? Audi 4000) ever and drove that for 21 years, everything else was used and driven well past 250k miles. My mom has owned her Miata for what 16 years?

At this point, 5-door Astra, Fit, xB, possibly a Yaris, something else I can’t remember. We’ve narrowed down the list quite a bit over the last month.

Your wife is wise.

No Mazdaspeed3? Those are fun from what I’ve heard and that kinda fits in with what you’re looking for

The 3 hatchback was ruled out, and the Protege5 is on life support.

Mom knows the answer. Awesome! My dad drives 96 Dakota he bought new. He just keeps rebuilding it when it breaks. The in laws have new VW’s and a F350. They have good taste but the just trash cars and then cast them away in trade ins.

Been there. My Tercel needed a fair amount of work which is why I sold it. It just wasn’t worth it. They new owner has pretty much fixed everything though. But he’s awfully handy and has buddies who are also handy, resources I simply do not have.

Man that’s no fun. I’ll tell ya though, I’d drive a Fit if I had to. This is just going off my driving one in FM4 though...
