I took off the stock emblems and put on a new black badge! Took about 30 mins total. 25 mins of removing adhesive. That was the worst. Now all that’s left is to do the front! And paint the rims.

Put a “Cavalier” on the left side.

I assume you screwed it in from the inside of the trunk lid? I don’t see the 3M stuff poking out from behind.
The first time I put on the front badge I just left out the “art of speed” decal, but then after a midwestern winter it basically fell off. So then (luckily I had a second set of badges lying around from someone else that didn’t need them) I put the front back on with the “art of speed” decal and then the 3M sticky patch.
No screws; they don’t work on the front. I learned that the hard way after ripping my airbox inlet and everything beneath apart trying to get to the other side of the “H” emblem.

Nice! First thing I did to my genny coupe was swap for kdm badges. :) I had a 2010; but I’m really liking the new body style. Those tails...

Which transmission? I have a small obsession with the gen coupe.

Auto. It’s not too bad. Year drove a manual and it wasn’t that good. Wasn’t very smooth. Auto is pretty good. No DSG, but good!

No screws on the back. I just popped it out. Was nervous, but came out clean! May have to do that later. I’ll definitely heed your advice when tackling the front. I need to get that 3m tape!

That's what I've heard about the manual, and iirc the first gens had some pretty fragile manual transmissions. I'm not in the market but I'm still super curious about these. Sweet ride!

The 3M stuff should have come with the badges.

I had the 3.8. I loved that car. But she had to go so I could get back into an Evo... :(
Yeah, I don’t know how to feel about the new front. I still think it’s a pretty car, but you could fix the 2010’s with KDM badging and an aftermarket grille...

Oh okay. I was afraid that the adhesive that cane with them was the cheap stuff.

I plan on getting a carbon fiber piece or painted cover for the front plastic piece and get functional hood scoops. I think Hyundai had no original idea what they wanted to do with the front!
