The outside of the frame rails are cleaned up enough.
Here are the spots I’m having trouble with. Behind the braces and the inside face of the rail. I can use my pneumatic die grinder but it runs out of air pretty fast and then I have to wait for pressure to build back up.
Yuck!
Eww.
Gross.
Spent some time cleaning up this brace and was going to grind off the booger welds.
When this happened. There’s supposed to be a button inn here that stops my grinder from spinning. OK, I guess I have a new project.

Incidentally, I still have a third row from an Envoy, and I’m still planning on Maining at some point, so expect that to be available.

I can measure it. It’s pretty narrow, which I think in your setup is a plus. A good bit more narrow than the middle seat, which was a little over five feet, I think - Ranchero sized. It attaches with three bolts along the back edge and three bolts along the front designed to go over a lip (angled down, bolt through the face). The fancy way to mount it would be on a box, steel or wood. The not-fancy way would be to take two pieces of angle each at front and back, and just support it with two spars welded or bolted into the body.

Nor media blast place-thingy! (I’ve sand-blasted with a baby sand-blaster outside in the heat - not fun)

$60 at Lowes for a sand blaster. As long as you don’t mind blowing sand fucking everywhere it’s the only way to clean frames.

I don’t know I’d recommend anything less than a 40 gallon. Anything else is going to make for really variable sand rates, weak blasting and pickup, and beating your compressor like a rented mule. I’ve used a 20(?) gallon compressor with a handheld blaster, and while it’s possible, you have to be willing to spend more than half your time not blasting for anything larger than a dinner plate.

Yeah well I’ve got a couple minutes of the die grinder working before I have to take a break so it wouldn’t really be much difference.

At the end of the day, one of the midget sandblasters is almost exactly like painting that same area with a model paintbrush. For anything big it’s
achingly slow.

Anything you can’t get the tip within about an inch of, though, forget about it.

That shouldn’t be an issue.
