Is $290 a fair price for my Leica lens?

I’m wanting to sell my Leica 90mm f/4 elmar-c in order to finance a Rokinon 35mm f/1.4. My example is by no means perfect and has been well used. However it is fully functioning and still takes wonderful pictures! There are some small issues, there is a very small amount of oil on the aperature blades, however that comes with the territory of owning a 45 year old lens. However it is a very small amount of oil, Second, the snap on cap that goes on top of the lens has snapped several of it’s supports and as such does not stay on the lens very well. Lastly there is bit of microscopic dust in the lens that is invisible unless a high-powered flashlight like mine is shined under it. I did not know it even had any dust in it until I took that picture. There’s not wear in the coating, no finishing marks, and no mold. It’s a wonderful lens however now that I have my Nikon Ai-s 105mm f/2.5 I have no real use for it and would like to see it go to a loving home. I’m thinking of asking $290 OBO. If any of you are interested I’m more than willing to sell it to one of y’all!

Always wanted a Leica. If your lens is in good shape (no scratches, no growths at the periphery, point that out. Otherwise, take what you can get.

It doesn’t have any growths or scratches! So otherwise it looks good to you?

It’s reasonably fast, a bit wide angle - I’ve never had a rangefinder camera (had Nikon 35mm and Rolleiflex 6000 series medium format) so I don’t know what sort of exposures a 90mm lens makes. In any even, if you think the offer is fair, take it. I’ve never made more money by refusing a first offer for camera equipment (unless it was stupid).

Oh no I haven’t been offered that, I’m trying to find a price to ask for it.

Then I’m the wrong person to ask - no rangefinder experience. Although I always wanted a Mamiya 6 ....

Late to the pary, but I’d say you could maybe get a little more for it, but not much. I recently bought an Leica 90mm. I think it’s Canadian from the 80’s. I’ll have to confirm the details when I get home. Pretty well used (lots of antiquing on the hood (metal not rubber), but the glass is in good shape. Paid about $350 for it; I bought it through a local shop, so there is probably a slight markup there. With that in mind, you’re not far off. B&H has one similar to yours for $300. Yours looks newer than mine.
