Many things happen today. For starters, I go to my favorite Fezza dealer.

Look at some Fezzas and tell my friend how I broke down at the concours last weekend.

I buy myself an early birthday gift....

Only to break down on the way back from said dealer, go figure....

Currently waiting for a tow truck and a nice police officer is kindly and patiently waiting with me.

This day could not get much better than this. Just another new day in 944Lyfe.

At least my dad was right, I’ll have to tow it to a shop after all; after fixing the car this past weekend.

Not this time. I’ll check for spark later, but it’s for sure getting fuel, the starter motor is working, I put in a new ignition switch. It’ll crank, but it won’t run or even fire up.

Is it bad that I've scheduled a timing belt retentioning for this Friday, and this happens?

At least spark is an easy one to check.

Maybe the timing is right you can get both taken care of at the same visit.

In all seriousness - bang on the relay/fuse box. My friend had one of these (an ‘86 I believe) which would sometimes not start, and banging on that box fixed it most of the time. Other than that (and the bad motor mounts which gave you a massage at idle) it was genuinely a reliable car, and almost convinced me to pick one up to play with.

went to break for a red light and as I did, the car lost all power, stalled or died on the spot. Felt the car rumble a bit, then die. I tried swapping in my spare DME relay and that did nothing. It’s soldered so the fuel pump runs indefinitely, so plugging that one in, I could hear the fuel pump whirring so I don’t think it’s that.

That’s odd. Check the relays maybe? Or some kind of short? Vacuum leak somewhere? Can you get a code off of your car?
