Brake help

I got one side off but the other side is stuck. Its broken free. I think it’s stuck on the e brake. Any advice?

Edit what I think is called a tension pin was dislodged. It looks like it sick thru the rear shroud and it rusted and pulled thru. Fuck now what

Caliper or rotor? If you’re not using the rotor just hit it with a hammer.

If the e-brake is already released, then adjust the the brake until it is “loosest” (ie. shoes as far away from the drum as possible). Sometimes when these drums get worn out (shouldn’t really happen with a parking brake though) a lip forms on the drum that hangs up on the shoes.

Those should be easy come across. My suggestions for would be: 1) rockauto. 2) a good auto store Napa. May be able cruise the brake parts catalogue find a suitable replacement. 3) dealership. I’m sure you’re not the first this has. happened to. Good luck!

That problem sounds familiar. We once had the rear rotors completely stuck on our old 05 Escape. We knew they were stuck on the E-brake, the problem was THE SLOT FOR ADJUSTING THE E-BRAKE WAS BEHIND THE REAR CONTROL ARM AND THEREFORE INACCESSIBLE. THANKS OBAMA.

I hated that car.
