I’m taking my grandpa’s 1995 Jaguar XJS convertible 4.0 I6. Yes, it’s BRG and GORGEOUS. His Jag is the car that got me into cars. I’m beyond excited to drive his car and show it off at Cars and Coffee.

Not by any chance a 5spd, is it?

Nah, it’s an auto. My grandpa was 70ish years old with two terrible knees when he bought it so auto was the way to go. Can’t blame him for choosing auto and that seems like the right transmission for a car like this. Just an easy cruiser!

Ah, I was merely curious because I met a guy last week with an XJS with the I6 and a 5spd. Turns out the car is one of 25 ever made. Has to be my favorite front end for that car though. Does it have the leaping Jag on the hood?

Yep, I remember reading about that! I does in fact have the leaping Jag on the hood!

I believe that Lister used to put 5-speeds in XJ-S’s back in the 80’s and 90’s..

Where and when is this STL C&C? It is a little bit of a drive but, I might give it a shot.

You just moved to Illinois, right? C&C is at Westport Plaza every 3rd Saturday of the month. I believe the next show is on the 18th of this month. 8-10 a.m. Probably a bit of a drive for you, but if you’re gonna make it, let me know and we can meet up!

Hmmmmm, it’s a 2 hour drive but, I did promise Mrs. Blacktruck we would go to STL to look for Asian grocers so, I could drive up Friday night, get a hotel for the night do the C&C Saturday morning then go Asian food shopping with her and drive back here.

Will they be having one in September? I want to do some stuff to the Lincoln before I would trust it for a 2 hour drive. I know I won’t have everything thing done by the 18th.

There is one September 19th, according to the C&C schedule. If you drove the Lincoln, that would be awesome! It would most likely be the only Lincoln there and would draw a big crowd.

Also, for Asian grocers on STL, there aren’t much, as far as I know, Global Foods in Kirkwood has alllllll kinds of great stuff from all over the world. If you want to find some food that is out of the ordinary, I highly recommend this place.

Global foods is the only place I can think of in STL that should sell Asian groceries.

I am seriously thinking about it. It seems like a two birds one stone type of deal. See cool cars, get food for the wife.

We went to a show last night and the Lincoln got way more attention than I thought it would. There were people around it all night.

I found Global foods on Yelp, we are planned on going there. We also heard about a couple of other places from a lady that owns a Chinese restaurant here in town.
