On a whim, I picked up a pair of these badges on eBay for the P71. I was bored just now so I went and put them on, and I don’t think I care for them. Also, its not crooked, the angle just kinda makes it look weird.
I like that they pretty definitively should tell people that it’s not a police car, but they look out of place with the rest of the car being super plain. I also wish I would have put it on a little lower, but I can do that if I want...I have a massive roll of double sided tape for this sort of thing.
What say you?

Leave the interceptor, take off the 4.6

Agree with chevyfan; remove 4.6 but leave the intercepter

Yeah, I mean I’d hope the big chrome exhaust tips and the sound of the damn thing would be enough, but everybody still thinks I’m a cop. But the outside of the car is too plain to pull off the badges, and it looks weird to me.

I’ll be frank because it’s what I do.
It's cheesy. It's a nothing special engine (sorry) and not a muscle car. Interceptor can stay, it makes sense.

Agreed. It looks out of place on such a relatively plain car.

I’m actually in 100% agreement here. I thought I’d like it when I bought them because it seemed kinda subtle, but now that they’re on there it’s all you see when you look at the car. And it’s not as if its a built up engine in the car, you know? They’re coming off in the morning, and I’ll see if just the Interceptor badges will look okay somewhere on the side.

If there is room drop em to the last bend area before the rocker panels. Always loved that look. If possible move them to the back as far as possible between the wheels.

Not a fan. Hell it looks bad on SN-95 and New Edge Mustangs too.

Agreed. I didn't think I liked it when I put em on, they haven't grown on me.

What about triton V8 emblems from a 97-03 F-150?

Michigan State Police blue. Copyrighted color. Unmistakable.
Trivia question. Why do they have those clear bands in the red overhead light?

The wheels and light say you drive a cop car, no getting around that. I’d completely debadge it, to avoid looking like all the Pep Boys specials (unremarkable cars in the ghetto with fake bling slapped on).

Actually a Massachusetts car, similar color though.
I just looked up the Michigan state cars...the lights look like little top hats, though I assume that's not why they have clear bands.

I used to commute 1.5 hours each way when I lived in Michigan. Found it out from a State Cop. Those clear bands add brilliance to the light making them stand out better. It really works. They have something about them that grabs your attention more than a plain, all red globe.
Tough call on the emblems. They are cool but look a little out of place. Sleep on it for a week and then see how you feel.

No because a ‘94 Town Car could slap those badges on too.

Nah. Not a fan. Reminds me of a Mustang I saw a few days ago with the 3.7 fender badge.

I think they both look pretty cool. It does have a 4.6 V8 so it’s not fake badging.

Agreed. The only problem I have now is that the adhesive is substantially better than what you'd typically find on PepBoys badges...

Luckily, it's gonna get repainted in a few months, so if I pull some off it ain't the end of the world.

Why not get some of those vaguely Art Deco looking Ford V8 emblems - like the one molded into the plastic engine cover? Always thought those were pretty sharp.

It look killer no matter what anyone else says! It’s reminds me of the 5.0 badge (which it’s supposed to imitate?)

If it was lower - same level as the door bump guard things - it wouldn’t look so out of place. And maybe if it were darker, or if the center section of the numbers was black (along the lines of the new F-150’s F, but black instead of hollow).
