Everyone knows Two Wheels Bad, just as everyone knows E=mc^2 and tomatoes are delicious. However, there are multiple circles in the Two Wheel Hell, complete with violent hierarchy.
Professional bicyclist, which apparently exists as a real job, Greg Van Avermaet forgot this hierarchy. He tried to complete the Clásica San Sebastián, and even led the race, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
Remember, Two Wheels Bad

That’s unfortunate. And yes, cycling is a real job at the top tier of the sport. Having watched the Tour de France for many years, an event that van Avermaet has competed in, it takes a very special, highly trained person to drag themselves to the end of the TdF and up and down the insane climbs of the Pyrenees and the Alps. I have marveled at the skill most of these moto riders have to film and support the race, but this was a B-level event and may have had B-level moto drivers.

And then there is the question- who is the better athlete, the MotoGP top level rider or the top level Tour de France rider?

Tomatoes are the worst thing ever. Even worse than sea urchin.

Tomatoes are only good in the form of ketchup.
Onions and bell peppers are far superior sandwich toppings.

The answer to that question is basically ‘it depends’. Who’s got better dexterity? Almost certianly, the MotoGP rider. Who’s got better endurance and recovery? The cyclist, no doubt. I’m a high level amateur cyclist and former collegiate baseball and football player, so I’d like to think that I have some insight on what it takes as an athlete. Either way, they’re both bat-shit gonzo trades. Public opinion of cycling is really shitty though; it’s one of the most fun and physically demanding things I’ve done and I wish the people would give cycling a chance. Everyone needs to go try and win their local cat 5 (slowest/anyone can participate) criterium/race before they talk shit about lycra wearing Lance wannabes.
