I want to go get an ebrake out of a car tomorrow for the sole purpose of having my Logitech G27 having an ebrake. The wiring is all done, but I want to move forward with getting the actual part. What tools would I possibly need in order to remove the handbrake from a car?

The gas axe. The blue tip wrench.

A 10mm, 12mm & #2 Phillips will disassemble almost anything in a Japanese car interior.

This is a great idea! How are you wiring it in? I hate having to use a push button on the steering wheel for it

Kind of like this:
I followed the chilicoke video on soldering it in, and because my brother is amazing at soldering, he helped me out with the electronics. Here is the video for that:

The floating wires look super janky, but I like the idea of wiring it to an existing button

The floating wires aren’t my favorite, so I have to agree. I now need to be SUPER careful when moving the thing. The next step after the handbrake is to build a stand to hopefully seal off and protect the lose wires and to also make it where I can switch from left hand to right hand drive.

A limit switch should do fine for that, really any kind of switch would be better than that

Wire it like this video shows me?
I’m not sure how to do that with loose wiring.

You could get alligator clips like he has from harbor freight, or solder the wires to the pegs. They have three, but you only need two. The order of the wires doesn’t matter, since they’ll complete the circuit either way. You can put the switch somewhere and extend the lever to get pushed by the handbrake.

I would say radio shack, but... not sure where you can get little electronic stuff now

I went to Radio Shack and got a push button and a small limit switch. I’m giving both a try to see which works best. I’m thinking of building just a wooden stand to mount them both onto.
