So my 535i had a Key Fob issue apparently common to these cars, the car won’t see the remote when it is hot out, so to the dealer we go. 2 hours ago they said they would let me know if this was going to take a while they would get me as loaner.
So here I wait on their free WiFi. I’m able to compare and contrast my Jaguar service experience. Jaguar had much better waiting rooms with soft drinks and snacks. Jaguar had nice cozy lounges. This BMW dealer’s lounge is just a couple steps above the Saturn Dealer’s lounge from the 90s.
Since I was here a month ago for 3 hours for a replacement tire, (DAMN RUNFLATS) they have replaced the chairs but they need more than bottled water and coffee.
Wait they just offered me a loaner, woohoo let's see what I get.

I’ll guess a 328xi for a loaner.

To me, the problem seems to be more runflats and keyfobs.

I’m in the DFW area of Texas & Sewell Cadillac has the nicest waiting areas I’ve been in. Park Place Lexus is just a few steps behind. When I went to my local Ford dealership... dear lord. It felt like a boiler room. So much activity and so many high pressured sales tactics.

BMW dealers here have lovely waiting areas with young ladies bringing you nice coffee and nibbles while you wait.

They told me the showroom was moving so the service department would be remodeled. Apparently my car needs a software update that takes 4 hours to load

Ah, I’m guessing you have to connect to the car through AOL dial-up, that makes sense then.

BMW dealers vary greatly. My local dealer in Colorado had 6 hard chairs, and a thermos type coffee container. It never had coffee in it. The one in GA has a coffee bar with a a barrista. They also have little cubbies you can work from, with a view of the service dept performing services, as well as a lounge with a flat screen TV.

I once got a 435xi w/M-sport package. When I went over to the counter to get the loaner car, they guy is running through the list saying “X1, 328i, 228i, oh...I know which one you’ll want”, and just hands me the rental sheet for the 435xi without asking if I wanted it. Best loaner car ever. I ran the options it had through the BMW config thing, it was a 60k+ loaner car.

Noice. One of the 328i’s was an M Sport version. Bad. Ass.
