... have no pics.
Well, because driving.
Anyways, I went to the cape this weekend and got back late last night. I sluggishly made my way to work this morning. Here are the things I saw in chronological order:
What I think was a Huracan stopped at a rest stop on Rt. 6 (the worst road in the world, more on that later). It was a nice shade of gun metal grey and had an older gentleman (in typical short sleeve button-up and khaki shorts) who was presumably the driver, that was clutching his back and bent over a bit. These are the dangers of being old, driving an exotic, and being in MA. Because potholes.
Nothing too interesting throughout the weekend. I’ve seen enough 911’s and Range Rovers/Cayennes for a life time.
A rather nice looking Aston Martin Vantage Convertible (no idea if it was the V12 or V8). I followed them all the way from rt. 6 in chatham/brewster to the I-93 split off rt. 3. They seemed to have perfected the art of tailgating the left lane hogs until they moved over to an appropriate lane. Nothing I like doing too much, but I did reap the benefits of.
Chevy Traverse ... I know but this one was completely debadged, including the center caps on the wheels. In the terrible shade of blue that Chevy makes available to the color blind customer. It looked like one of the cars they would use in commercials or TV shows where they have generic cars that any one of us could pick out but they don’t want to show their brand. Like this:
Ewwwwwwwwww.
What did you see this weekend?
Also I found this Saab while looking for the last image... mmmmmm (minus the hood scoops).
Edit: I forgot to say why Rt. 6 is the worst road in the country. It is because for like 13 miles it is only one lane and it is the only road that everyone uses to get to the cape... When it is two lanes it is filled with left lane hogs... Filled with potholes... The speed limit is only 50 (for the most part)... /endrant

Clearly you’ve never been on ON 17. Two lanes. Over 1200 miles long.

Not on weekend but I wish I had taken a photo of the mint 70’s GMC motorhome I saw last week.

I *hate* that rear design on the Traverse. It’s as if they were about to turn in the final design and realized they completely forgot to do the back, and sketched this shit on a napkin at the last minute.

It looks like it has angry eyes and a really small mouth. Like its mad at the designers for putting its face on its ass.

is’t it also know as death road or something? I was just down the Cape last weekend. I have a side job drawing an addition for a house down there. I left their house which was maybe 6 miles from the bridge. It took me about an hour to get to the bridge. In the picture below the entrance to the Canal is to the left just past the clump of trees. The area I was, and that clump of trees were two islands. When they built the canal the used some of the excavated material to create a causeway so you could drive to the two islands. Getting over that bridge is definitely a nightmare. this photo is taken from their BBQ/outdoor kitchen area

I’ve heard people call the single lane stretch suicide something (alley, road, lane, etc.)

yea that sounds closer. They really could use another bridge there.

Not this weekend but last week I saw a beige train accident (other working title beige runs a train on a juke).
A juke was rear ended. It was at a spot on a 2 lane road that people turn left onto a neighborhood often. Not sure how it started. Here’s the progression of the cars involved (arrows indicate direction of travel):

Ha. Overtaking on that road is fun, I’ve had to over take huge things on that road. lol.

You wouldn’t happen to have seen that at a KOA campground, would you? I saw one a week or so ago in hot springs, Arkansas. Same exact color and everything.

Quite far away from that, in Finland. It had German plates so I’m assuming they were German tourists.

Oh. My. God. The movie Stripes is actually happening for real... Look for reports of an RV smashing through a guard post very soon.

At least they attempted to fix it with the refresh:

Yeah, the refresh helps. I’ll allow it.

Not just saw, but rode in a ‘69 Chevy truck with a crate engine
Also, I revved a ‘71 Z28 with a loped cam idle. Could sit in it forever and indulge in the vibrations of the engine.
