It’s 90 degrees, I fear I might be dying. This is the first time I've ever broken down in a car here are my observations...

1. My spare fuel pump relay has the fuel pump running.

2. Ignition switch might be bad, and I’ve got no spare. Car won’t crank at all.

3. I’ve got no AC, food, or water.

4. No assistance has arrived yet. And I have no AAA.

5. I’m quite quickly beginning to cook.

6. IF I die here, at least I died how I drive: alone in a burning Porsche. And at Concours d’Elegance, what better place to be incinerated.

7. Jkm, you don't get the 911. No one does.

You can call and join AAA from the side of the road if you can’t locate a tow on your own. There’s some small surcharge for doing so.

I feel your pain some what I’m in day 3 of head gasket replacement on my V70R.

Perhaps hit with a hammer? Also I think if you sign up for a year membership at the moment with AAA you can get the tow as if you were a member iirc

Are you on a highway? In some states they have a motorist assistance program where somebody shows up in a utility truck and tries to help you.

Your insurance company might be able to send you a tow also.

Sorry you’ve broken down though, but with old cars it’s bound to happen someday!

AAA is life in cars with mysterious unreliability.

I feel you. The fuel pump went on my ‘66 GMC a few weeks ago. It was about 4pm in Phoenix, so the heat was pretty extreme, but dry. My interior is white so that helped.

A lot of insurance policies have roadside assistance included. Check your card.

I don’t know about Michigan, but in Texas you can call the state police (state troopers, here) and they will come to help you. I’ve had a trooper stop to help me change a flat before I could even call.

If it’s something other than an empty gas tank or a flat tire, then they’ll help you call for a tow. In Texas, that emergency number is listed on the backs of our driver licenses, and on the backs of our registration stickers. The way the state police see it, helping you not be stranded means they’re helping clear a hazard off the road.

Tool? You just rip the wires from the ignition switch and touch them together to complete the circuit. It may be a little more secure on your 944 than my 924 though.
