Got the AC charged on my 1966 Lincoln. For once broken AC really did only need a charge! Apparently that’s somewhat typical for R134a systems refitted into older cars.
Also saw this, which I think they were putting AC in. Neat!

I didn't know you owned a 66. How does it drive?

When they converted it to R134a if they didn’t change all the hoses, the refrigerant will actually seep through them, and thus it will need charged every now and then.
Do you know if they replaced the condenser and metering valve when it was converted?

Yup, they changed everything. This shop does a lot of conversions, and they did mine several years ago. I trust them, but it’s possible you could spend money chasing super slow leaks in the hoses and make it somewhat better (at least according to the shop foreman).

In style my friend, in style. But it’s a floaty land yacht, you know. You get exactly what you would expect.
